A car enthusiast comes in many flavors. You don't need to agree with their taste but you can't deny the passion. I will never understand the VW rusted hood trend or the stanced folks but to each their own. The folks that bug me are ones who ruin a gathering and generally cause an issue promoting law enforcement to get involved. Staying out until 4AM at a local convenience store was something I did in my younger years so unless they were being asshats, then it seems the car culture is just thriving...

No offense dude, but your post made me throw up in my mouth a bit. If you want to include no talent, generic, wanna be performance car ricers into the same "car culture" that includes cars like your Hellcat and T/A, well I guess the "car culture" is doomed. I feel like I'm watching an episode of "Car Crazy from Hell," where Barry Maguire gives the same props to some idiot ricer kid who's straight out of his mom's McMansion, as he gives to some guy who restored his '69 Chevelle in his 1 car garage.

The irony is overwhelming.

It's unfortunate you lost your breakfast but you obviously missed the point. You made a generic post about ricers hanging out at a Wawa at 4AM who did zero to impact your early AM soda run. Now if they had swastikas and kill whitey on the side of the car, that's a bit different.

The car culture is bigger than this group, the "ricers" and you. It is far from doomed and has been thriving since the OG ricer movie Fast and Furious hit the screens 15 years ago. Maybe you should have gone over and seen what the fuss was about, make your comments and start a conversation? The soda machine was broken so you had a little time.

I'm not saying you need to like everything automotive and hey, you can have an opinion just like everyone else. Just don't be surprised if you receive the same type of comments the other way around.

ric·er
/ˈrīsər/

noun North American
noun: ricer; plural noun: ricers

a utensil with small holes through which boiled potatoes or other soft food can be pushed to form particles of a similar size to grains of rice.
Well that backfired

So what have Ricers brought to the table to make the "car culture" better, other then providing hearty belly laughs?
And if the crowd at Wawa had swastikas and "Kill Whitey" on the sides of their cars I probably would have went over for a look. Cause that would be such a conflict of views I'd be dying to see who was rockin' that look. :D
And as far as getting comments from those so great ricers, they don't give an F k about anything other then their own pointy headed crowd. You could roll into a parking lot full of ricers in a fuggin 63 split window Vette and they ain't going to give it a second look. They don't care about car history. They think it all started with the Civic and ends with the WRX. Lol
And I should just give it up and realize I lived through a great era that people who weren't there will never understand. I was there when the guy down the street drive an SS Chevelle daily and you saw 440 Chargers and Mach 1 Mustangs at the local laundromat. I'm just going to tune out and set the way back machine for better days of yesteryear...

LTb1ow 06-24-2016 08:35 AM

I wouldn't care about a 63 spilt windown either. Prob some number matching car that comes out once a year and has a matching coat and hat owner that is super proud of his all original slow car from the 60s. No heart or soul in that machine.

Show me something that someone poured their soul into to make theirs, and I will be impress.

Plenty of imports at the track. Plenty of sad muscle cars too. 14 second mustangs with exhausts that made my ears bleed. Audi s3 that went low 11's was difficult to hear. Idiots aren't limited by a car brand. Not everyone has money to blow either but still want to express their creativity.

You should be kissing the ring of a 63 split window, son. Without cars like that you wouldn't have **** under your hood. Have some respect for Chevy heritage.

It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand.

It's what all the ricers add to the automotive industry.
