Get that bad boy back in the water yet??
|
Not yet, I just got the EMI manifolds/risers today so the headers are coming out soon. I decided against the Glenwood logs since they had no idea when the straight risers would be available and I wanted the center riser manifold so there's less chance of water coming back through the exhaust. I put some new Taylor 9mm wires on it and you could feel and hear the difference. I have a smaller nozzle on the way which should increase the thrust and turning.

Got the EMI Thunder manifolds installed, put on a smaller nozzle on the jet which helps steering and thrust and put on a new Holley 600 carb. It's a lot quieter with the water cooled manifolds and cooler with no hot air cycling back through the boat. I ran it Wed with manifolds and it was a big difference. But today I put the new carb on and holy crap! I picked up 1000 rpm's and it flat out flies. I need to get a working oil temp gauge installed before I push it too much but it felt like it was doing 70-80 mph which is a little crazy in a 13' boat. I had to put some 4" to 3.5" reducer pipes in since the thru transom outlets were 3.5 and I didn't want to cut anything bigger into the transom.

Does the split from the water outlet go into the bottom of the manifolds?
