Well, if others don't mind working into the night under lights (this would be presumably done in a driveway, right?) I can come up either Monday Tuesday or Wednesday night to help.

Anyone else? I'm gonna talk to him again about it later today. Â*and yea it would be in my driveway, then only thing I need to do beforehand is get the rear to my house (had it shipped to the transmission shop) and I dont knwo what tools id need, but aside from sockets and screwdrivers i dont have too much. Â*If he still insists on paying to do it I may just take it to TTP, on their website it says $300 to do the rear

Good thing about that would be I'd prolyl have them weld my exhaust while theyre at it

I'm allergic to the cold....... if it is warm... I'll lend a hand.

Got some work to do on my bird... and it's cold out :(

Savage_Messiah 02-19-2005 12:37 PM

Checking the weather they;re calling for snow from sunday night till at least midweek, highs in the 30s sunday...

Update:
http://www.njfboa.org/forums/viewtop...?p=31559#31559

Looks like I'll just take it to TPP for $300, and maybe get my exhaust welded at the same time. It's quicker and easier, a LOT cheaper than the other place, and professional job.

Thanks anyway

Tru2Chevy 02-19-2005 05:39 PM

Not a problem.....good luck getting everything over to them.

Goddamnit, my dad is trying all he can to make me go to this closer place saying "well he said he doesn't do them all the time just every month or two, so how would he remember how long it takes" "it's closer and he can get your car fixed this week" (TTP can this week too if we can just get there), "he's a transmission guy he knows what he's doing," and what gets me the most is hes trying to use "you get what you pay for" on me. Going to talk to this guy now-ish if he's there today, my dad wants to see if he'll go down closer to the $300. What's funny is my dad thinks if I ask him if he'd do as good a job as if I took it to TTP, that he'd be honest with me

Ugh...anyone that owns a shop that takes longer than a few hours to swap a rear is retarded. We swapped Craig's rear and tq. arm in Tim's driveway in about 3.5 hours, while talking with friends and throwing back a few beverages :)

OK so I called and the guy started telling me in an almost angry tone that he told me (and he never spoke to me, only my dad) to bring the car in Saturday and that he had someone there then just for that, when he told my dad bring it in Tues and he'll do it Weds. I told him about the $300 and he wouldn't budge from his price but now said I have to let him know today and I'll need to get the rear today. stuck now trying to find a ****in truck since TTP isnt open (or not answering), so it wouldnt do much good getting it all towed. goddamnit

if your still looking, i'll do the rear swap. i'm local, in closter, i can bring all the tools needed(stands jacks, breaker bars, 1/2" drive rachets), i've swapped my ss rear myself in my garage before too. let me know, my ONLY requirement is that i will not do it if theres snow and slush under the car, it needs to be a little better out, cold is ok but i cant stand getting cold and wet.

Savage_Messiah 02-21-2005 11:52 AM

I'm up for that completely, or TTP. I need a way to get this goddamn rear at least to my house, thats what's immediate :?

V 02-21-2005 02:17 PM

i can help you get the rear tomorrow, i got my dodge ram

Savage_Messiah 02-23-2005 02:19 PM

I got word that some classes are cancelled, which means tomorrow I sorta don't have class (one 12:30-1:45 but it's not required that I go), a friend can give me a ride from school to home, follow me to TTP and give me a ride back to school, the thing is for this to work...

If I took out my passenger and back seats I can get the rear inside, right? And this wouldn't mess anything up besides possibly carpet right? Also just to save time what size sockets do i need for taking out the seats. Thanks

Savage_Messiah 02-23-2005 09:52 PM

.Well nevermind... just got email/pics from my dad, he got it in the hyundai

Ian 02-23-2005 10:33 PM

go hyundai!! If you need any help with that, let me know. I'm not really local, but I'd be willing to show you how to do it so you can do the next one by yourself and feel like a champ! 8) Let me know if you need an extra set of hands.

Savage_Messiah 02-23-2005 11:35 PM

Thanks, for the offer, but I'm gonna take it to TTP due to lack of time and bad weather... also, will have my exhaust welded while the car's there.
