What are you testing for, ladies?

LTb1ow 08-28-2009 12:27 PM

Just a in general blood test, family history of heart problems etc...

Figured it also would be nice to see what my liver is doing.

i had to get a physical for my fire department and i had blood taken..results were unusual amounts of creatinine in my blood and protein in my pee lol

Moving into college today, plan on heading down to the gym to kill time.

I am worried a full gym is gonna overwhelm me and I will get nothing done...

What should I try to use ?

madness410 08-30-2009 11:01 AM

best thing ive learned is to keep an eye open...ive taken so many peoples workout regimens and workouts themselves just by watching them. of course watch the guys who actually know what they are doing though..

whats your routine like now? do you have a day for every muscle group?

LTb1ow 08-30-2009 11:20 AM

Nope, just lifting days and non lifting days.

Ah well, I guess I will see when I get there... should be interesting... not the school gym so I assume there won't be many heavy lifters there...

theres a few at every gym lol..........

LTb1ow 08-30-2009 08:21 PM

There was one other guy there, so not bad.

Did my usual workout, albeit it was mostly on machines.

Friggen bench machines suckkkkkk so much.

FIcamaroRE92 08-31-2009 03:58 PM

the ones that you stand up (or slanted) and push out?

Those are "chest press" machines... probably what he means though.

FIcamaroRE92 08-31-2009 04:04 PM

or maby the smith machine...?????

LTb1ow 08-31-2009 04:07 PM

IDK what its called, but its a pain having to twist your wrist to take the locks off and what not. I think I will just try to do chest workouts with loose weights.

FIcamaroRE92 08-31-2009 04:08 PM

if the bar slid up and down on tracks its the smith machine

LTb1ow 08-31-2009 04:09 PM

Yea it was a pain, could never get it to where it felt even across my chest, and it was like 3 feet above me laying down... no good.

FIcamaroRE92 08-31-2009 04:14 PM

ehhh, I never see people doing becnh press at my gym with it. usually they do squats, shrugs, shoulder press....etc

FIcamaroRE92 08-31-2009 04:15 PM

your gym dosn't have just a regular bench and bar setup?

LTb1ow 08-31-2009 04:55 PM

Nope. Kind of a panzy gym if you ask me..

Says the man with only standard weights. Cut them a break. Insurance company probably neutered their gym.

LTb1ow 08-31-2009 05:19 PM

Nah, its more of a spa setting than anything else... lots of treadmills etc, tanning beds..

Lots of machines, so maybe I will head to the school gym.

And nothing wrong with standard weights! ;)

madness410 09-01-2009 01:30 AM

idk man...id say keep hitting the gym there, you'll find new ways to work out everything its just part of finding a new gym..well thats what happened to me at least when i switched going from nysc to retro fitness

Tsar 09-01-2009 09:45 AM

Smith machine sucks for any exercise... Why was it made, anyways? For people who are afraid to use proper weight and overload the bar so they can have more "safety" and limited range of motion?

LTb1ow 09-01-2009 09:46 AM

Yea, heading back this afternoon...

Another thing is, I forgot to bring a small pair of headphones, so I have a tough time focusing.

depends...i used the smith machine for front squats to get the form down before doing it on a regular squat rack.
