Mehh, I just used the bar without weights to get myself used to doing front squats. It's all fine and dandy now. I still think it's useless.

It's another one of those magical machines designed by insurance companies so retards don't kill themselves.

I stay away from it.

Nice workout today, although I find that when there are other people around I tend to get my workout done a lot faster. LOL

madness410 09-01-2009 03:46 PM

A lot of the guys at my gym will stare when you do curls or bench(only those 2) and will then do it right after you and try to kick the weight up. I cant stand that. Thats why i only lift weights at home now. I basically pay 20 bucks a month to use cardio machines and do lat pull downs

LTb1ow 09-02-2009 12:12 PM

I am headed back today, its nice to be able to really push yourself.

sweetbmxrider 09-02-2009 12:36 PM

Nope, its me, and my reflections. Otherwise, empty gym.

NJIT is like 100 guys to every 1 girl.

well at home i would be fine since my gym, but ive lived down here fulltime for the last 2 years or so, so i have to go to the school gym which is only open during school hours, so its pretty much packed all day with bench and curl ********... and all the gyms around here frown upon 'powerlifting' movements... 405 landing on the ground from lockout scares cardio bunnies for some reason:twisted:

madness410 09-09-2009 12:10 AM

wtf lol ive never heard of that...you dont go to balley total fitness do u? lol

na.. one would think so though.. its a shame though, cuz theres a huge powerlifting gym about a half hour away.. but its only open short hours and would be a huge inconvience getting out there and juggling school and work

LTb1ow 09-09-2009 08:20 AM

Yea my gym is empty all the time, every day.

Just me and my reflections.

I need a good back exercise. Ideas?

Deads, bent over rows, seated rows. Good Mornings for lower back.

LTb1ow 09-09-2009 08:28 AM

Ok, not sure how much I could dead lift, there is no free weights for bars.

But I have been doing the thing where its like a reverse curl, you lock your feet in and then lower your upper body down. I hold a ten pound weight and that usually gets my lower back nice and sore.

pull ups, weighted pull ups, close grip pull ups, wide grip pull ups. pull ups are always good.

LTb1ow 09-09-2009 06:52 PM

New question..

At the moment, I do 5 sets of 8 reps for each exercise. Should I bump up the sets to make it a square 8? Or just add more weight?

Squirrel 09-09-2009 07:15 PM

all depends on what your ultimate goal is
on accessory/recovery type stuff i like to use higher sets, higher reps, lighter weight
but on the major 3 and assistance exercises i like to do high sets, low reps, heavy weight

LTb1ow 09-09-2009 07:16 PM

Ok, I will tack on a few more sets. Cool.

madness410 09-09-2009 09:33 PM

what are your goals matt

LTb1ow 09-10-2009 12:50 AM

More weight to be lifted. Not much else.
