and some more. The car sits 2 inches lower than before its 250lbs lighter than the last time, its 2725, bigger rear tires 27x14 in the rear not on the car yet I orderd them on fri, more gear in the rear with a 9inch full floater set up. I can't wait to get to race it. I'm sure it will take at least 4-5 races to sort it out the spring rate shocks and sway bars

here is what the interior looks like

I've been wanting to see an update on your car, looks awesome!
|
Looks amazing.
What rear gear are you running now? I would be interested in seeing what that thing can do on a big track. All that tire and so light I can imagine you could book around both NJMP circuits. |
hopefully i can get down there this fall. the car has a 3.89 rear gear with the 27 inch tall tire 4th gear is good for 140@6800 2nd is perfect for autocross 79@6800
|
How much power does the car make? If you get to NJMP and like it maybe you can find a reason to visit one of the larger Pocono configurations, Walkins Glen, VIR or someplace else that you can really strectch the cars legs.
Have you ever thought about submitting it to Grassroots Motorsports for the Ultimate Track Car Challenge? |
Wow, the car is really coming along great! Can't wait to see videos of this beast on track.

the new race rubber came in today the fronts size is still 25x13 but for this season Im stepping up to the 27x14 in the rear to help get the power down.
|
dats a lotta rubber.
|
How is the handling going to change with the taller tire?
|
I talked the the racer who helped develop this current tire it has a slightly different construction than the ones I raced on last. That being said Ron said I might need 50lbs more rear spring and to add some compression in the rear shocks, but with the car being totally different the initial setup is just an educated guess. It will take some time to get dialed in

holy smokes this car has come a long way. incredible amount of work . great job. very interested to see it perform or a video or two if it.

its been a couple of months since i posted updates about the camaro. We will start with the good, the car is 2810 with all fluids. min weight for my class is 3000 without driver. once I melted down some lead to make ballast bars the car has 50.8 fr/49.2 rear, the cross weight is 50.2 and the left to right is 50.2 all with me in the car, so thats pretty awesome. Went racing with the SJ scca down in A.C to shake down the car ended up 5th fastest in raw time out of 79 cars. now the bad on my 8th run near the finish one of the fabricated uprights broke and in the process took out the right front inner rim. So I'm just waiting on the new parts to come in. Build race break repeat:banghead::banghead::
|
Damn. Why do you think it failed?
|
Good lord that last picture
|
That thing is so bad ass, I am so jealous.

What is the upgrade part to account for the needed range of motion? My understanding was always that ball joints with more ROM = Taller which I haven't ever read of anyone wanting as a solution. Is there a part or way to fabricate around it?
Congrats on the positive race result. South Jersey has some fast guys, stacking up strong against them says something. |
so on saturday i finally went racing again this time to run with nnjr scaa, It was a stacked field of cars 119 with at least 10 national champions thrown in for good measure. After the last outing i was pretty cautious the first couple of runs, mostly waiting for something to brake. But the runs kept coming ended up running 7 times, and nothing broke every thing appears ok I will know more once i get the car in the air to do a post race inspection. Now for the driving, I was pretty darn slow for the first 5 runs. 3 years of no racing will do that to you. The last 2 runs i started to figure it out a little bit, on my last run i dropped .9 of a second. I ended up 36 out off 119 in raw time, not as fast as the car used to be in 2012 but i think the potential is there for top 5 pretty soon.

I love that there is still a license plate on the front of the car!
|
Congrats on getting back out there. Where did you end up in the index?
|
Are you going this weekend? I expect to be there with my cousin Ben.
