My theory... if they see it in your windshield, they see your not following rules and choose not to follow or abide by them, but thats just my theory. If I were to have no plate on my front bumper, it wouldnt be put anywhere else.

Ive been pulled over twice in three days for it after i installed my billit grill, and since i know most of the cops in my town, they "warned" me, basically almost saying "Its all fine and dandy here, but other towns will ticket you" kinda deal. So whatever, I rigged something up that can be removed no less than 5 minutes when i go to carshows/cruise nights .

The smaller the town, the less they have to do.

As witnessed in Clinton Twp. They pull speeders over on an off ramp from 78.

My advice is to keep your plate in the back with two rusty broken bolts. Then if you get pulled over, tell him it just fell off and you are going home to put it back on.

That bites. Off-ramps are like the only fun you can have anymore. Like a personal skidpad.

is there any place i can get the "caps" for my firebird (where the liscence plate goes) the chick i bought the car off of didnt give them to me

i got pulled over last friday for not having a front L plate. on top of that at the time my firedept tags werernt registered yet either. got away scott free. just dont be a dick to the officer and you get away . how i get outa all my tickets. then again i do throw cops names i no and say there my uncle and ****.

got a ticket for not having one, and still dont have it on lol

Ha, I thought about this today. The Bordentown boys had a spot inspection setup on 206S at the weigh station.

I'm so glad we don't have to worry abou tthat BS here. If I had to put any holes in my SLP grill I would shoot myself.

thats nothing we have like 53,000 in my town. hell let alone my hs has 3000 sumthing

For a town 40+ miles away from a "large city" , 30,000+ is alot .

if you dont have the plate on the bumper DONT put it in your window, that just shows that you know it needs to be displayed and blatantly dont care...

do as alex mentioned and have it in the back seat so you have the "took it off to clean/photograph/got hit/etc." excuse

one time i was with a bunch of buddies going down the pine barrens on quads/4x4's....the cop waited till we pulled into the woods then followed us and pulled me over (probably the only street legal truck amung us) asked where my front plate was and i proceded to freak out running down the trail looking for it.... told him it was there till i hit the bumpy trails and he believed it

It's legal to have in your front window, it just needs to be visible from the front.

Negative, there's a height limit on it and i believe windshield is flat otu illegal

I dunno, I guess the cop that told me windshield is fine was wrong. I've passed numerous cops and haven't been stopped once for it

Well honestly what cop enforces every law?

I didn't get pulled over by him and he said he'd let me go, he was telling me that having your plate in your windshield isn't illegal, telling me thats what I should have done. He was a friend of my boss at the body shop and I was talking to him about it the day I got pulled over for no front plate at all.

plus, what cop is going to give you a ticket if you have the plate in your windshield and tell him you just got the nose repainted and need new brackets. That is to say that you get pulled over for having the plate in your windshield to begin with.

You have to watch out for the damn newbies... they try to save the world...

You know guys...if you're really concerned about it, they make a L bracket that bolts underneith your bumper and pushes out away from the grille so it'll look better...
