Listened to a custom CD of Deep Purple on the way back from work last night, and Black Sabbath on the way up this morning. Thats the Ozzy Black Sabbath, not all the rest. ;)

Bonzo, where did you find that Live '83 VH copy?? I'm a huge VH fan, but Sammy was in the band by the time I was old enough to hit the shows. The first time I saw VH live was at Monsters of Rock in '88.

Good VH boots are few & far between, which is a shame. To bad EVH is nuts, he is sitting on some nice DLR era stuff. Full pro-shot Fair Warning tour, for instance - anyone remember the early days of MTV when Unchained & So This Is Love was in heavy rotation? Hit me back in the winter, I plan on cleaning up my library, and I have some decent VH stuff laying around.

UBG Warning: DLR era VH live is very loose & messy. DLR is not a note-for-note singer. Not even close.

IMO, the Sammy era is much tighter and musically tight, and Sammy is by far the superior singer – but DLR is a better showman. I would never classify DLR as a singer.

I've got all the ones before it, but haven't heard this one yet. How is it?

1972LT1 05-30-2007 07:39 PM

F'n awesome. The third song "The Haunting" features a duet with Simone Simmons of Epica. Damn she's hot.
The first song "March of Mephisto" features Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir. Look it up on Youtube.

Good choice. But I found listening to Floyd, late at night, while driving tired, is a bad combination. Took all my Floyd CDs out of my car.

Had the Eagles on this morning for the drive in. Just mellow enough to not be annoying, without being too mellow putting me to sleep.
