From what has been told, when the air bags go off, there will be NO room to move...
They want this car to be 5 star all the way around. |
The Newer Tank?

What happened Al? You kept saying the Camaro was going to be much lighter than the Challenger. (aka the tank) Not so much. |

If V6 Camaro comes in around 3700lbs, and SS comes in less then 3900lbs, that means the 4200lb SRT8 is still several hundred pounds heavier with the RT not being that much lighter then SRT8. I never said that Camaro was going to be Mustang light, but be lighter then Challenger. It is lighter then the Challenger, and will have less weight with same power as both the SRT8 and RT package. V6 car is also some 200lbs lighter then SE Challenger. Camaro is lighter then Challenger. Everyone was talking about Camaro coming in at over 4k lbs with a V8, like the Challenger, with V6 coming near teh 2k mark. Camaro is lighter becaue it is also much smaller then the Challenger. Is the Camaro as light as I would have liked? No, I think that another 100lbs off each one would have been better. |
then = time.
than = comparison. kthxbye |

They said the SS will be 'at least' 3900 pounds, and the SRT8 is 4124, 200 pounds in a street car is nothing. Thats the difference between an average driver and a half way decent driver. But weight isnt all you have to take into consideration, you have the power curve on the motor, gear ratios, rear end, drivetrain efficiency, weight transfer, traction, etc. I still think they'll be pretty dead even performance wise. I'm surprised nobody is trying to compare them to the Mustang, that comes in roughly 500 pounds lighter, and has the likes of Roush, Shelby, and Saleen making them much faster.
|
Its funny Al rounds DOWN the 3747 pounds of the V6 Camaro but rounds UP the 4124 pounds of the SRT8 Challenger. :lol: At least stick to the same rounding method.
Camaro will be just as much of a tank as a Challenger :rofl: |
Where did they end up putting the gas door?
|
Passanger side, damn RHD.
Alright, while Camaro isnt light, its not as heavy as Challenger, nor as big. 189 inches, I think thats almost a foot shorter then the Challenger. |
so you're saying that if it WERE as big as the challenger, it would weigh more.

i want one. i need a job. a better job.
