Wow as someone who offroads I would never seriously wheel an independent suspension truck. Nor would I ever jump a 4wd truck... Its like they said "We wanna build a pre runner but it will never appeal to the average joe if its 2wd like it SHOULD be"
I'm not fond of IFE myself. I'm interested to see how that "hill descent" feature works, as well as the lockers.

I just dont get the thinking. I mean I guess I do, its just marketing to appeal to any dummy.

A truck you jump should be a prerunner! TWO WHEEL DRIVE, locked rear, 33-37in tires with a tough sidewall and beadlocks, long travel ifs suspension that is raked way higher in front than rear and soft ass rear suspension with mad droop when it comes off the ground. Light and powerful.

A truck you wheel, preferably solid front and rear axles,dual lockers, low gear, power doesnt matter, and a tcase with a good low range.

Should have just called this Ford F150-H2.

Ok. the only thing that this truck has going for it is the sexy orange paint. other then that...its pretty nasty looking! i am sure some 'tard will buy it though.

I don't know where you got those numbers, but the Dmax is a nearly 10k option just for the diesel. You can get a Ford with the 6.4 for far less than a Chevy. And the 6.4 is a lot stronger than the 6.6. It has best in class hp, tq, and towing capacity, and is 3k less for the engine.

I'm on both Chevy's and Ford's sites right now building 3/4 ton trucks for comparison.

Chevy Dmax / 6spd Allison price - 7,195 / 1,200 = $8,395 total

Ford Pstroke / 5spd Allison price - 6,895 / 1,490 = $8,385 total

Chevy's diesel / trans options only cost $10 more than Fords.

I built 3/4 ton trucks, diesel automatics, 8' bed, reg. cab, 4x4, no options selected besides the diesels....

Chevy = 37,465.00
Ford = 36,430.00

Ford is $1,035 cheaper, but Chevy gives you more for the money (IMO). Dmax has more hp and tq, 6spd allison vs ford's 5spd, chevy has 4 speaker am/fm/cd/mp3 standard with 3 free months of XM (ford has 2 speaker am/fm only), chevy has 1 year of free onstar safe & sound, chevy comes with 3.73 gears standard (ford only a 3.55).

Wow, Ford really bumped up their '09 prices. '08 was a flat 6400 for everything. Plus the base truck was cheaper too. I take back previous comments, they are all over priced equally now :rofl:
