Snap this ****in thread back into talk about radar detectors and shut the **** up. People speed. If we didnt, we wouldnt buy the cars we do, we wouldnt spend the money we do, and we sure as hell wouldnt need radar detectors. |

If you don't like the thread, ask one of the admins to delete the whole thing because it talks about illegal driving and radar detectors. |

if we read your post you said you were "messing around with a friend"........

Vinnie, 85 in a 55 is definitely way too fast. I'll be the first to admit that I used to drive quite fast, but one speeding ticket several years ago changed that quickly.
You say that you were only 1 mile into the 55 zone....I dunno about your F-Body, but my lifted (and before you ask - completely legal) Jeep can slow down plenty over the course of a mile. You also say that you were doing 80 in the left lane, then moved over when you saw the neon coming up behind you quickly because at a glance you thought it was a cop. So when did you speed up to 85? I'm not saying that you are a bad person or anything, but if you are gonna get into something like this on a public forum and then toss some inconsistencies out there, you can pretty much expect this type of response. - Justin |

Face it, radar detector or not, you were going way too fast. Whether you realized your exact pace or not at the time, you were at fault. YOU are in charge of the speed you are going, not your friends, not some neon coming up fast, you and you alone. You have been around here long enough to realize what happens when people try to make excuses for doing something that they know is wrong. If you don't want to hear any more about it, then just drop it. |

Anyway, anyone have any recommendations for an updated radar detector? Preferable from best buy because I have a gift card from there that i'd like to get rid of. |
passport escort 8500 or 9500
bestbuy should have the 8500, the ones by me do |
I have the 8500 and it deffinitely does its job
|
Just looked on Bestbuy's website. The 9500 looks like a really nice unit. It is like the radar dector of radar detectors lol.
