WOW, WHAT AN EXCITING FINISH. THE CAR THAT WINS LEAD 1/2 LAP. Another suck ending. NASCAR really is getting old fast. The #18 (Camery) had the whole field covered, just like last year. You mean to tell me that after all the testing and money spent during the off season, NOBODY could figure out how to get ahead of Kyle's M&M Camery! :moon: :bs:

there was no testing in the off season this year......and last i checked, if kyle was in the lead he would have missed that wreck

Sorry for misinformation. He WAS the man to beat IF he had not been taken out of the race by an earlier wreck. Plus Jr. was trying to make up some time because he missed his PIT box AGAIN. He was later heard saying all the PIT signs looked pink, but hell, all the other 42 drivers had the same things to look at. At that level of racing, those mistakes should not happen!

NJSPEEDER 02-15-2009 08:32 PM

Yeah, no one should ever make mistakes and a lot of "what if's" win races from the bleachers. Who could have or should have won any race on any given day is meaningless, it is only about who actually won.

Lead 500 miles or the last 5 inches, only leading the last time across the stripe gets the prize.

that's all i was looking for...after the first few minutes (and the typical yellow flags) there really weren't any real good shots of it, anyway. i'm waiting to hear if they are going to reproduce any or if they'll let yet another easy one get away from them...

BurninrubberGT 02-16-2009 10:15 PM

he didnt take out johnson, johnson spun by himself, he even said on the radio "chad i just did a perfect 360 and kept it going, pretty good"

and if you throw a block like that, you better expect to be wrecked, if it was kyle busch instead of jr i would of backed busch

i hate import companies, im an american car guy, so sue me

not typical, im not even a jr fan, hell im barely a nascar fan anymore

I've seen 2x4s with more personality than Matt Kenseth.

Do you think transitioning off of the banking onto the flat apron was good for the splitter? Those cars are not set up to take big, tire off the ground bounces. He wasn't any sort of factor after the spin.

There is one body template for all brands to follow and the parts have nothing to do with who's stickers are on the sheet metal. Get over the import vs domestic thing, it's not 1985 anymore.

Picking and choosing who is right or wrong in an incident based on who is involved makes you a lot more like a typical NASCAR fanboi than an actual racing fan. In racing everyone wrecks, at some point they are the victim, at some point they are the cause, doesn't matter what your name is.

+1 on that

firehawk1120 02-18-2009 07:56 AM

haahha it's funny to me to read alot of the comments here. I'm not a die hard but since footballs not on and I hate baseball and basketball, and Hockey is EH, i watch if I'm not working. 1st Kyle Busch lead alot of the race in his normal fashion like in 2008 unfortunately he got smushed in the wreck so what he did the previous 100+ laps is irrelevant outside of the fact that other teams know he's still the # 1 toyota or car for that matter to beat.

2nd as far as the no passing rule I think that either needs to be changed or the yellow line needs to be reinforced with a concrete wall like it is on the right side of the track. if you don't want people passing make it so they can't. Don't say if your car is faster and you go to rip past someone who is all the way up in the middle of the track they have the right to drop down in front of you and make you slow down because the yellow like is out of bounds and you can't advance if your below the line. Oh yeah and when you're going 200 mph out of bounds please make sure it's safe to move back in line of the other 41 cars doing 200 mph so you don't crash.

I know kyle did the same thing last year and everyone was saying good for him block blah blah blah. Only difference is a wreck didn't happen but it's still cheap driving if a car is faster you should have to let them pass, cars that are a lap down usually move out of the way of the lead lap cars don't they????

If Jr. tapped him for a cheap move then he desrved to get bumped. Gotta expect that to happen and realize you are going to cause a HUGE wreck because of the position and # of cars behind you. Most people watch for the wreck anyway.

and as for the rain issue if they knew it was going to rain they should have started earlier. It takes 2 hours to dry the track according to what I've read so if it rained early on they had time to dry it and start early so it could have been run in it's entirety. BUT, if of course because of tv rights and sponsors complaining BS they had to wait then sorry driving in the rain at 200 mph on slicks is just stupid and anyone who says they should do it is being immature because they want to see people die or get really hurt or find more accidents to complain about.

Hell boxers shouldn't wear gloves over the tap the tap should have shards of broken glass in it make it a bloodsport, football players can't wear helmets, pad or cups be men. come on gimme a break.

nj85z28 02-18-2009 10:10 AM

IMO, the cars to beat were Gordon ,Stewart and Jr. Carl Edwards and Johnson looked terrible, and it was only a matter of time before Kyle Busch wrecked himself or got wrecked.

what are you talking about? i said it didnt matter who was behind vickers, it was vickers fault. in any other racing series they would have seen that as an uneccesary block and would have penalized vickers (if he was still running), dont say im not an actual racing fan, i live for racing, the only reason why i still watch nascar is because ive met matt kenseth a couple times and i follow him and mark martin is one of my favorite drivers across the board. i watch every ALMS, nhra, rolex, koni, f1 race, scca races on speed, championship offroading, austrailian v8, occasionally a1 gp, formula d, lucas oil on the edge, autocross, occasionally motogp, WRC.....dont say **** about me when you dont even know me

didn't you know the internet tough guys know you better then you, and they can do everything you can do better then you, and their dad's can beat up your dad. At least you have a good sense of humor about it.

Do what I do and use the ignore feature the word is the beginning of the word ignorance which is the type of people you shouldn't pay attention to esp. some of the ones on here who really have nothing better to do all day then argue. Wise man once say never argue with an idiot from a distance people can't tell the difference.

Mike 02-18-2009 12:56 PM

eh its only a race that happened 3 days ago, they are in California now, new arguments to be had
