I just started going back to the gym 3 weeks ago, after not lifting anything for 3 years... At my best I was benching 330 and weighed 158. I was 5.9% body fat. But after not lifting for 3 years, It will be tough to get back to that :( |
Danke!
Been able to get comfortable with the new weight so maybe next week I can bump it up a tad more. |

Yea I know, the first few times I had my dad spot me but between his work schedule and my classes its tough. Sometimes I split a rep into two sets of 5 versus one set of ten to be on the safer side.
|
Maybe you should try to recruit a buddy to lift with.
|
Eh, I am not a fan of people for the most part.
lol and most of the people I know don't lift. |

what if u set the rack low?
|
And its more of me having way to much weight on the second floor. If I got a squat rack I would want a lot more weight and maybe a new bar.

Ok well let me re phrase that, there is a very expensive pool table under my room and my mom would slay me, and skin me if something were to happen to it. ;)
|
our kitchen is uner ours lol so we'll hav some problems if the floor gives lol. but my dad build the upstairs so hes pretty confident in it.
|
Yea, I am just wary of bringing more weight upstairs at the moment. And then my room would be really cluttered.

whenever coming back to the gym after a layoff, it's important to retrain the muscles proper form again. and you can't expect to work out with the same weight after 2 years off, but two weeks off it might be possible. also, remember that the muscle grows when it's resting, not when it's being exerted. so decent rest every night is as important as proper form. and listening to your body will help you avoid over-training. usually one to three weeks off per year are enough to heal the muscles properly and give yourself a chance to grow a little bit, too. |

Quick question for the guys that take super pump or similar stuff, is it wise to take an advil later that day? I am just wary of mixing chemicals...

No pills, no caffiene when you are on the C. |
Ah well, I tweaked my chest I think, dunno it may just be sore. Nothing sharp and I still have full range of motion.
