I dislike the look of all late 2nd gens, mostly "Bandit" style TA's...ugh.

the funny thing is that the late second gens are my fav

jims69camaro 05-10-2009 10:06 PM

that looks like ass.

Jersyboyy 05-11-2009 01:02 AM

What justin posted looks 100 times better, something that could be seen driven on the street next to the camaro for sure, and with pride.

iv liked that design sense the first time i seen it. i actualy like that better then the 5th gen camaro they really should have made this instead :)

yeah, instead of killing pontiac let's kill chevrolet instead. GM is trying to get away from shooting themselves in the foot. this is why the camaro made it and the firebird didn't.

repeat after me: pontiac is dead. the firebird and all of its iterations are dead.

Yeah, so all of us can gawk at it and talk about how awesome it is and yet never pony up the $ to buy one.

iv been one of the few people who has been saying that pontiac has been dead sense the 70s. i just happen to like that idea for a 5th gen firebird better then the 5th gen camaro

to each his own. it just doesn't make any sense, financially or otherwise, to bring the firebird back. they've been saying for a while now that they were going to stop rebadging cars from one line to fill a hole in another line.

Untamed 05-13-2009 03:45 PM

That would have been a lot better than the Mustang they used in the revised TV show.

That would be 3rd/4th gens, not 2nd.

Now THAT I could buy. It really looks like a 'Bird and not some cobbled up body kit.

Looks cool but that just stupid ...keep camaro with the camaro stuff...and keep the trans am with the trans am stuff..i love both trans ams and camaros...maybe they will come out with the trans am again no need to do that....Just my opinion

firebirdcrazy 05-14-2009 11:54 AM

I am not digging it. I like the other style that another guy has drawn way better.

karr95 05-14-2009 12:24 PM

I wonder what this body kit package will end up being called. I don't think they would use the name Firebird (unless GM wants to sell the the rights, not out of the question given their current cash problem). I also don't think they would call it Trans Am since the name is owned by Trans Am Racing and GM. In any case, give it time, I bet there will be several after-market companies offering body kits similar to all the pictures in this posting.

Fixed. GM paid the SCCA a $5 royalty for every T/A sold. ASC could use the name if the royalty price is not high.

NastyEllEssWon 05-14-2009 02:27 PM

id name it the Chicken kit

Thanks. I wonder if Mopar had to pay royalty fee for every Trans Am Challenger / Cuda they sold.

In any case, I think I am getting a bit ahead of myself. All this crap is assuming GM survives past June 1st and will still be making cars.
