yea i f-ed that ls1 up and the thing is it only had 13k on it lol. when i pulled that head off and saw that cylinder i started laughing my ass off. but yea its coming along better than i though. now im just waiting on my gaskets to arrive so i can swap the pan and what not over to the new motor and get that back in the car. but ill probably be sending my computer out to brian at pcm for less in the next week or so. so that i have it ready to go when the car is back together.

I don't see any major problems with your old engine. Man you wasted a lot of swapping engines!

bldgrn83 07-18-2009 12:55 PM

Wonder when you're gonna ask me to come over and give a hand.... lol

emolineaux 07-18-2009 01:58 PM

i wanted a 6.0 so that engine blowing up gave me a reason lol.

Saitin 07-19-2009 08:47 AM

that looks familiar haha, I'll have to post some pics of mine when I get them off my phone,The jest of it is the number 4 piston was gone and the complete front half of the oil pan went with it leaving a nice whole in the bottom of the block and it managed to destroy a valve and break a titanium valve spring(again this was at 2700rpm roughly 35 MPH)!!
And he swears the nos purge unit was jsut for show lol, it was either sprayed the hell out of it or had a spun bearing that was covered up by the sound of the cam and rigged exhaust lol.

nothing is really bolted to the motor now just kinda in place all the front drive, intake and headers are coming off. im going to drop the 6.0 in the car and am leave the engine hooked to he hoist so i can slide the headers in place while i still have clearance. i dont want to chance laying them in place and dropping the motor in if i do it by myself.

emolineaux 07-23-2009 12:41 PM

well i couldnt get the motor into as i had planned to do because of the rain. but i did manage to get the windage tray, oil pickup and oil pan swapped over along with resealing the fast intake.

gotcha. I wasn't sure if you picked up the intake used or not. Didn't wanna see you mess up a brand new motor. If you need a hand with anything, just give me a call. This weekend I'm busy, but if you need a hand early next week I might be able to head out. Probably gonna be in your neck of the woods on Monday anyway.:shifty:

emolineaux 07-23-2009 08:13 PM

yea i picked it up used and it came with all the hardware.(thats why i bought all new seals for it) but yea im working this weekend so im not going to be to free. i might work on it tuesday on my day off. as of right now my goal im shooting for is to have the motor and trans back in the car by the end of next weekend. with any luck she will be running but in need of a tune.

emolineaux 07-26-2009 06:04 PM

THE MOTOR IS IN!

now i just have to hook up all the grounds throw the trans in and hook up all the connectors and accessories.
(i hope she will be together this weekend.)

how does the monster clutch compare to a ls7 clutch?

emolineaux 07-28-2009 09:52 PM

well the stage 2 monster clutch i ordered is suppose to have stock pedal feel but is rated to 525hp/tq. this one isnt ment for alot of track use but thats fine because i dont take it to the track often at all(only once since ive bought the car)

emolineaux 07-31-2009 07:19 PM

Almost done!

well its nearing the end for the swap. basically just front drive accessories now along with filling the fluids and installing the driveshaft and exhaust.

i just got the headers in along with the ngk plugs and msd wires. and the UMI torque arm relocation crossmember
