they're both illegal and claim more lives than they should each year. What makes one any better than the other?

xrelapse13 07-17-2009 01:18 AM

they're both decisions that people make.
Racing on a road where its just you and the person you're racing is one thing. You both know the risks and accept them.

Driving drunk is just ****ing stupid. You put the lives of the people in your car and anybody around in danger.

no. i compared it to driving at HALF THE LEGAL LIMIT. you, someone who admittedly breaks the law while driving, has some moral high horse about someone who is NOT BREAKING ANY LAWS

madness410 07-17-2009 01:44 AM

awesome rebuttle mike...lets hear what nasty has to say..

NastyEllEssWon 07-17-2009 01:49 AM

one on hand you have legally endangering the lives of EVERYONE ON THE ROAD....and on the other hand you have an illegal activity that engangers only the lives of the participants.

this is one of those cases when even when your in the right....your really still in the wrong

BigAls87Z28 07-17-2009 01:50 AM

How about we dont?
Everyone of us breaks the law at least one point in our lives, year, months, days, and even hours.

The point is that he wasnt drunk, but he did have a few to drink. He didnt hit the legal limit, so he shouldnt have gotten a ticket.
Having met Pat, he is a pretty level headed guy, and I think he knows when he can drive, or when he should ride shotgun.

madness410 07-17-2009 01:51 AM

hmm im not quite sure what nasty means by his last statement...'if hes right, he is still in the wrong'..is it some sort of white flag? does he surrender?..not quite sure..

lets hear mikes rebuttle...

NastyEllEssWon 07-17-2009 01:55 AM

no it means that just because your legally half the limit and not breaking any laws doesnt mean that what your doing is any less dangerous.

BigAls87Z28 07-17-2009 01:58 AM

Anything can be dangerious. Driving on the road is dangerious, with or without drinks or any other influences on the driver. Hell, more people probably get into accidents because they are upset or stressed.

speeding is more dangerous than not speeding. that endangers everyone on the road.

and just because your racing on an "abandoned industrial road" doesn't make it any less dangerous

PBodyGT87 07-17-2009 08:56 AM

I knew someone once who was driving on a very open back country road out in Colorado. No trees or anything around, maybe a few abandoned homes. He was driving very "Sprited" and then began coming up a hill, which had a rather "fun" steep drop. And just as he was hitting 100, on the other side of the hill two little kids were drawing with chalk in the road. They moved out of the way just in time while he tried his best to stop, and barely missed them. He never sped again after that. You see the problem with abandoned roads is that, well, EVERYONE expects them to be empty.

Just because you think it's an abandoned road doesn't mean there's not a deer, or a kid, or another car stopped. You just don't know. And I would NEVER wish on ANYONE to hit something in their car on the way home "to teach them a lesson" because that's not only morbid, it's just not me and it's not a noble thing to say. So unlike Nasty wishing that on Pat, I'll wish that Nasty doesn't harm himself, his car, or anyone else around him, because he's not immune to danger either. And as Al said, everyone on the road is in danger, for various reasons.

madness410 07-17-2009 11:51 AM

wow good thing those kids werent hurt..thats terrible..

LTb1ow 07-17-2009 11:56 AM

I street race my non inspection passing car in residential areas right after school lets out chugging my bottle of jack.

madness410 07-17-2009 11:59 AM

chugging a bottle of jack will probably put your bac at .45..half the legal limit.

LTb1ow 07-17-2009 12:05 PM

Yea, and I try to have conversations on my phone will texting with my work phone. Sometimes I even read the paper too.
