okay, the devils have convinced me that they will never win another cup

Ill be attending Game 5 tomorrow. The last 2 Devils playoff games I attended, they were eliminated... so lets see how tomorrow pans out

Frosty 04-21-2010 09:24 PM

Gagne and Carter are out, the Devils may have a shot :D I just keep thinking about 2000....up 3-1 and they lost the series...but Stevens and Lindros are in la-la-land so it won't be a repeat. :D

Frosty 04-21-2010 09:39 PM

Anyone watching the Bruins/Sabres game? Great game.

Knipps 04-21-2010 10:12 PM

I was. The Bruins definitely need to step up if they want to get much further. The local station said the series' statistics went something along these lines...

Buffalo leading: 139 minutes
Tied: 109 minutes
Boston leading: 19 minutes

:willy: It's a miracle they're up 3-1 in the series

Hockey 101: Don't skate with your head down, ever.

Advanced Hockey Studies: Don't skate with your head down while crossing the opposing team's blue line.

Expert Hockey Studies: Don't skate with your head down while crossing the opposing team's blue line with Scott Stevens on the prowl.

There was a hit Boston had on Buffalo the other night that was Stevens-esque

Damn, I might be eating some humble pie tonight.

BurninrubberGT 04-22-2010 07:15 PM

i dont know if i have ever seen 3 guys in each penalty box lol

God does not want the devils to score...

Frosty 04-22-2010 09:38 PM

Kovalchoke sure wasn't a good trade deadline move eh? One meaningful goal, disappeared for the rest of the series.

I feel bad for Marty...he had a heartless team in front of him all series.

Untamed 04-22-2010 09:44 PM

Im not going to comment beyond this - sheer disappointment. Anything else I say will be pure sputtering anger.

This.

Devils did not deserve to advance even if they had some amazing comeback... the passes were way too sloppy and when they did pass, there was too much of it. Marty, IMO, did great... it was his teammates that didnt put on an offense, nor did they have a good defense. The Devils team that showed up (if that) for the playoffs are NOT the team that played in the regular season. It was almost like they didnt give a **** about Game 4 and 5. Disappointing.

Frosty 04-23-2010 12:58 AM

The Flyers just had their number, period. I was way wrong on my prediction, I really thought the Devils would have won the series, I'm shocked that they got steamrolled the way they did. I'm not trying to pour salt on the wound or be arrogant....I'm just really surprised.

Kovalchoke proved to be a bad pick up. The guy doesn't fit that team at all...he tries to do everything himself which was NEVER a Devils philosophy. Your big stars just disappeared. Kovalchoke had 2 goals but one was an empty netter, Parise only had 1, Elias and Langenbrunner had none....not acceptable come playoff time.
