If you are young and want to be dumb, go ahead. Just don't take money from my pocket, directly or not. Cigarettes aren't banned because of how entwined the companies are with other businesses. Kind of like a big tumor intertwined around your spinal column.

I am surprised that you even blink at this, Matt. Seeing as how your other hobby is regulated like this all of the time.

No I know, I am playing devils advocate I guess. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

Lawyers have to make $$, but that's a blanket statement about responsibility in general.

I've tried one once and didn't like it. I'd rather get drunk off of a few shots than down one these.

Me and my friends drink four loko all the time. The taste is tolerable and its cheap. 2 weekends ago i drank to much off it and threw up and picked a fight. If u ask me how many times four loko caused me to vomit or pick a fight i would say zero because i am responsible for my actions not the drink.

Not calling you out, but you'd be surprised how many people say this and then when they get cuffed and stuffed for being disorderly they cry foul and blame everybody from the bar to John Wilkes Booth.

oh no doubt. But my point is that in the end your responsible for what you do. If u get yourself hurt then u should be responsible for it

Another local article written about a St. Joe's student being hospitalized after drinking this beverage...BUT....ONCE AGAIN it doesn't state how much was consumed, just like most of the other articles written.

Knipps 11-19-2010 12:51 PM

Or what else they drank....

LS1Hawk 11-19-2010 01:59 PM

I remember when the only badass drink was Jolt Cola.

Frosty 11-19-2010 02:04 PM

That stuff was so bad, lol

Was? It's still around. They gave me a free Tshirt a few years back :D

Frosty 11-19-2010 04:22 PM

Oh it's still being made? I haven't seen that stuff in years.

JL8Jeff 11-19-2010 04:36 PM

I read that 4Loko is dropping the caffeine from the product. So that would leave it as just another malt beverage I guess.

because it appears the FDA is barring caffeinated alcoholic beverages.

http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsro.../ucm234109.htm

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today warned four companies that the caffeine added to their malt alcoholic beverages is an “unsafe food additive” and said that further action, including seizure of their products, is possible under federal law.

The companies receiving Warning Letters and their products are:

• Charge Beverages Corp.: Core High Gravity HG, Core High Gravity HG Orange, and Lemon Lime Core Spiked
• New Century Brewing Co., LLC: Moonshot
• Phusion Projects, LLC (doing business as Drink Four Brewing Co.): Four Loko
• United Brands Company Inc.: Joose and Max

When you make the decision to drink an alcoholic beverage you are the one in control. I agree with Frosty on the point that no one owns up to thier own actions anymore and its rediculous.

Excess is excess, no matter what you drink.

I believe Australia already has a ban on alcohol mixed with energy drinks- and their right to get plastered is like our right to bear arms, or the Germans' right to do 160 on the highway.

Frosty 11-19-2010 07:51 PM

That would be cool if all of those rights were wrapped up into one. Driving 160mph, while drinking a 4-Loco and popping off a .45....it's almost like OJ's getaway scene but not.

Yeah, I see it every once in awhile. One of the pizzeria's in my area carries it sometimes.
