Smaller doesn't always mean more efficient. Look at the Focus and Fiesta. You have to opt for the fuel economy package in the Fiesta for 40mpg, Focus has 40mpg from its base engine.

And why can't it be far cheaper than the Cruze? The Aveo starts over $4k cheaper than the Cruze, and the Spark is smaller.

Yes, Spark will make it to the US still. Spark will fill the Aveo's shoes, Aveo moves up a notch in size, as will the Cruze, and Malibu becomes slighter larger. |
