I'm actually in Boston right now. Coming home tonight. I'll try and get them on soon though. The car needs some work before they go on.

Gonna remove that hood this week and go back to stock. Nice wheels, can't have unpainted hood.

Finally, I know. The fitment is great. They really make the car pop. The back tires are rubbing on hard turns but otherwise, these tires are just insane. Ride quality has improved a bit too. Hopefully next year I'll be able to get the body work that I wanted to make this thing up to 100%. For now though, she definitely looks much better than before.

Gonna put on my flat black tail panel, new tails, remove tints, stock hood, and then likely a photo shoot next week with my buddy's camera. I'll update this thread when that ever happens.

coolmanvette75 06-29-2011 09:44 AM

Win! They look great!

Anti_Rice_Guy 06-29-2011 09:52 AM

They look amazing, as expected.

Car looks awesome! Good call on swapping hoods, it will make it look better until you get some paint.

Thank you for this.

sweetbmxrider 06-29-2011 09:58 AM

They look good man. Why remove tints though?

I bet those wheels would look real good with the center painted gray.

BigAls87Z28 06-29-2011 10:02 AM

What kinda tires are they? I cant make them out.
Wheels look fugggin fantastic man!

Rich189 06-29-2011 10:09 AM

They look awsome man make sure to put some wheel wax on them especially on the inside. itll make them a lot easier to clean and protect the finish

I just swapped out for some ceramic pads, and I did some research on wheel waxes a few weeks ago. I'll likely order some next week.

As for removing the tints, it's really a combination of factors. Three main reasons actually: vision at night, cops, and both sides have tears in them. Additionally, while I think they look good, my buddy hates them and he nags me about it. It will be nice to end that nagging (he lurks this forum so I'm sure he'll read this actually). :)

Thanks for the compliments guys. They look far better in person than in those crummy pics.

If someone doesn't like my car, they walk :)

Meh. I value certain people's opinion. It was more of a nudge to do what I was wanting to do for a long time.

Also forgot to post up about two other recent mods. GTO seats and a Grant wheel. Makes the car so much nicer to drive. Lot's of vibrant colors on the car now.

Is that an mgw shifter? If so how do you like it? Thinking about getting one on those to replace my b&m.

NJ Torque 06-29-2011 10:15 PM

Looks great!

I love it. Mine replaced my B&M. The feel is far more positive and the throws are much shorter. I never ran a Pro 5.0, but I like it far better than the stock hurst with a short stick and B&M.

The rears are in the attic. I hate having rear seats so I didn't bother trying to put them in.

BigAls87Z28 06-30-2011 11:49 AM

Holy crap man!?!?! How hard was putting in the GTO seats? Being that third and 4th gen floors are nearly identical...

Tough. Really tough. Took a ton of problem solving to get it to work (considering my level of ability). It was worth it in the end though. I didn't take many pics as I worked because a ton of it was guess and check, but I'll try and explain the steps involved. I don't think anyone on LS1tech was able to get them in at stock height like I did. Since I eliminated all the guess work, it should be easy for anyone trying to do it from here.

So I used Sparco sliders and Scat/Procar F-body specific mounts. To mate the seat to the sliders, I had to remove the GTO power seat mechanism and mounts. I then cut into the wiring and left only the power and ground coming from the recline motor (which is built into the seat). The seat and recline motor combo is less than 20 pounds. Not surprisingly, the bolts on the seat were slightly wider than the slider holes, and were much longer (about 3 inches). I then drilled out the front holes on the slider, and used flat aluminum stock that I had drilled holes 3 inches apart to bolt the seat to the sliders. I then had to dremel the ends of bolts coming from the seat to allow the slider to move up close enough for me to reach the pedals. Lastly, I used speaker terminals to attach the power and ground from the power recline motor (same as pictured below) to attach to the stock harness for the power seats; thus leaving me with manual sliding and power reclining seat that is not height adjustable. Oh, and I used the seatbelt bracket from a BMW Z4 so my seatbelt doesn't go across my face (see above). The end result is a super comfy seat with decent bolsters that isn't like sitting on a phonebook. Rear seat legroom is now nonexistant by the way as the GTO seat is massive.

First off, the car looks great! The only way I think it could be better if those rims were on my car. :D

Second... GTO seats kick ass. :D

love those wheels (jealous)
