Please. I meant left lane. right was a typo, I had stay to the right on the mind. they even have a few KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS signs on 295. I meant they never give that ticket the the left lane larries who deserve it.

I believe there is a box for "other" in terms of speed or its just an open area to write in. I also believe there is a spot to just write in the observed speed and then they check the range it falls in.

I know what you meant, and I mean EVERYONE who rides in the left lane(s) deserves a ticket, the only "acceptable" time IMO is when all 3 lanes are full, i.e. during high traffic times.

Slightly off topic, but I have a theory about this. I notice that when I get stuck behind someone in the left lane, I end up getting frustrated and doing some maneuver, which can sometimes be quite aggressive, to pass the offending left-lane hog. If the police enforced the left lane laws like you want them to, I am willing to bet that there will be a decrease in people driving recklessly, and doing risky lane switches. The police would stand to benefit too from increased ticket revenue from the stay right tickets AND the speeding tickets from idiots who try and take advantage of the empty left lanes. Win-win.

Yes I agree Jake.

Ok I guess I don't know why I was Wrong! in complaining they don't give that ticket to the left lane larries more. But we are off topic so we should stop and I will berate you in person on Tuesday.

Qft

A break wouldn't be all of those tickets...

sweetbmxrider 12-12-2011 10:50 AM

49 over to 30-34 is a break.....

Yeah. But the question now is, which one will the officer claim in court.

Not to be a dick, but what color and how many miles are on it?

Like NJ Torque said, the cop doesn't have to be there and most don't go. The prosecutor acts on the cops behalf yada yada. Have you never gotten a ticket where the officer said, "I'm only going to write you for 55 in a 45...."? He got a break. I have no idea what happens if you are in excess of 34mph over the posted speed limit, but I'm sure its not good. Also, was this in a 65mph zone where the fines are doubled? That will not be a good day for you in court.

I got nailed for 149 in a 65 safe corridor. Oops. Got it reduced to 9 over the limit. The cop was a nice guy who resembled Arcot Ramathorn.

I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said here or anything but, I'm sure you can have those charges greatly reduced. Just be polite, you are in the wrong here. Nothing to argue.

if he had run, he could have probly got away. @ 114mph...by the time cop got his car in D and pulled onto highway he wuda been a mile down the road already. ( 120mph = 1 mile in 30sec)

hahaha good point.

You shouldnt have gotten a ticket at all, at that point youre mostly likely going to jail either way, might as well make it exciting

Dry/Light/Clear. I did it around 1pm on rt18 N in 2005. I did not see the officer. It turns out he was on the southbound side and crossed the median in his Durango. He caught me about a half mile after I took my off-ramp. Had I seen him turning around I would have taken a couple of turns and more than likely gotten away with my actions as I was out of sight of the officer for an extended period of time. He was really trying to get me for racing (I was speeding along side a friend) but I denied that and he had no proof.

I have accrued many tickets over the years, but that one sticks out.

As everyone else said lawyer up...even though they're soulless people they still have a use in society.

Better talk to someone in the know instead of the internet.

At least you're not trying to make excuses or downplay the severity. Good luck man, you're gonna need it.

One thing though, you can't have a license plate bracket in NJ? WTFBBQ

98CamaroSS 12-12-2011 04:52 PM

Get a lawyer for sure, I got a reckless back in the early 80's for street racing and lost my license for a year(no lawyer). Plea it down to careless driving if possible. GL in court.
