If they are the stock springs it ain't stock height.

PO said stock springs just cut down. 25 year old stock springs so they are really low.

I was talking about his '84.

GTA mesh wheels are staggered (same size, just offset)...not running them correctly (even the stock ws6 snowflakes are diff offsets) would make them rub on the tie rod end. Spacers and extended lug nut studs are what i needed to run 17x9.5 on my formula.

88WS-6 02-21-2012 03:45 PM

Oh ok. You had me second guessing myself. I thought I had at least gotten that one right...

WayFast84 02-21-2012 05:42 PM

I'm glad you don't have issues with rubbing.

They were stock and on right. They rubbed the inner wheel well not the tie rod. God I miss those wheels :|

If they are the original stock springs they are sagged. Therefore you are lowered by default.

Add this to the list too:

Hey sorry I just saw this because it was the last post on that page. I thought I needed at least two inches with the spacers or adapter for vette wheels. Specifically 17 X 9.5 vette wheels.

maroman88 02-22-2012 10:13 AM

im runnin 17x9.5 repro C5Z's. i have 1in all around, but should have gotten 1.25 up front

Oh ok thanks. Did you use spacers or adapters? I'm not sure if there's a difference except that adapters put less stress on the wheel hub right?

maroman88 02-22-2012 10:43 AM

adapters, i hope they dont make spacers that big lol.... they bolt on with a set of lugs n then u bolt up the wheel to them with another set of lugs

YOU'RE ALIVE!! Thank God.

Anyway, 1 in adapters is all you used? I have 2's up front, 2.5's now on the back, and my ZR1's (17x9.5 and 17x11) sit perfect.

Not much and it should be done well before you get home. I was just joking with you. Come home safe and then we'll beast mode the IROC.

BigAls87Z28 03-02-2012 01:21 PM

I also remembered that i have C4 HD brakes up front, so the offset is different.

For you 3rd gen Camaro owners:

This plastic piece between the front bumper and radiator, is it supposed to be up higher? The stock TPI intake was gone when I got the car and I'm used to seeing that piece so I have no clue if this looks right:

This is where it attaches to the bumper and it is bolted on:

This is what happens when you get flat bedded twice with cut springs:

And this is how my hood latch lines up now. You can see the marks where the latch is hitting now about 1/4 inch behind the opening for it:

I'm not sure what happened with this pic, but I have the correct console badge now:
