Like everything else with the truck, amazingly simple

The steering dampener will be the tricky part

sweetbmxrider 02-22-2015 07:25 AM

No pal help required? Excellent 8-)

LTb1ow 02-22-2015 09:05 AM

May swing by for a pickle fork, but that would be it.

KirkEvil 02-22-2015 10:37 PM

yellow means better

LTb1ow 02-23-2015 06:52 PM

After ruining a pep boys pickle fork rather awesomely, swung by Pal Perf LLC.

After getting a chunk of rust in my eye, a real pickle fork did the trick and dampener swapped out.

Next up, SS brake lines. Le ****.

Featherburner 02-23-2015 07:13 PM

Do yourself a favor and remove the bed before you start the brake lines.

LTb1ow 02-23-2015 07:17 PM

I have heard that, or dropping fuel tank as well...?

Yeah, my brother and I found it easier/faster to lift the beds off our trucks. 8 bed bolts, one plug and the fuel filler neck from the bedside.

Don't worry, that will be the easiest part. Prob be ordering brake line kit on Thursday I think. Pepper.

sweetbmxrider 02-25-2015 06:55 AM

Probably going to buy all of them today. Sorry bro, fresh outta stock :|

LTb1ow 02-26-2015 01:18 PM

Order went through, odd..?

New SS hard lines and flex braided on their way.

Blackbirdws6 02-26-2015 01:35 PM

He meant he would buy them all so you would get none...

sweetbmxrider 02-26-2015 01:51 PM

Looks like someone just volunteered their hands and patience at the task......Brian! :D

Blackbirdws6 02-26-2015 04:36 PM

Happy to help.....buy pizza. JK. Would like the opportunity to ruin someone elses vehicle rather than my own.

LTb1ow 03-02-2015 09:31 PM

So in what started as "lets just check the bleeders and maybe do the rears today" turned into.. "**** it lets do it all"

Thank you GM for some crappy OEM brake lines..

LTb1ow 03-19-2015 06:18 PM

Another successful job!

Needs an alignment, figuring the last alignment pulled the slack out of the pitman/idler and now with new stuff its pulled back to much. But, no more sloppy steering at highway speeds. Life is good :)

sweetbmxrider 03-19-2015 06:34 PM

So I guess we didn't need that washer

LTb1ow 03-19-2015 06:35 PM

weight savings!

Blackbirdws6 03-19-2015 07:36 PM

Looks good and I'm sure not a single torque spec was followed.

sweetbmxrider 03-19-2015 07:41 PM

My logic was he weighs around 184 lbs and if he stood on one foot, he could torque to 184 ft lbs by hand. What actually happened was he had 2 big ass wrenches flexing the steering box. Its fineeeeeeeeeeeeee.
