Right before I left, Brandon put a 17.35x

man i really wanted to go to this but i was too hung over

Blackbirdws6 04-14-2013 06:51 PM

First run was sloppy but with lots of passing. They make you run a helmet with a visor. Mine doesn't have one. They kept saying visors down so I just brushed my hand over the helmet face like I was putting it down. I got past two guys doing that but the last guy got me. The first part of the vid caught that lol.

Didn't record the second race for some reason but this is the third. My wife was in front at the start so I didn't want to pass her like an ass.

Had a blast today!

No, you wanted to. And you did. Don't lie

Vids are awesome. I dono how to convert mine to something youtubable.

damn watching those vids, I wish I went.... There needs to be another real kart place built somewhere closer to here in North Jersey...Not talking about the one on rt 17.... Last time I really went karting, me and a college buddy went head to head, plenty of contact, he was blocking, he was the leader I ran him down, and with like 2 laps to go I saw a gap, went for it we hit, he spun, I had to counter and correct like mad. We both wound up further down the order, but it was a real laugh afterwards. I think I wound up 3rd, he was further back.

Don't they run karts at NJMSP? Karting track next to the main course I've heard. We should run those next.

sweetbmxrider 04-14-2013 10:14 PM

Yeah, those are real karts. Not toys.

morphine 04-14-2013 10:41 PM

I agree. We should do another cart event except I wont be boozing it up the night before.

Slow-V6 04-14-2013 11:10 PM

I hear alot about a place called Pole Position up in the Jersey City area! Is there a Kart place in around the New Brunswick area? That would be perfect for everyone I think.

Even better.... We do that next LOL!

Quickie list I found of other places. The top two I've done, they don't cut it anymore. I need more speed, and a more engaging track.

Pretty easy but then again, I just used the GoPro software to trim these.

Idk how u got me on that one. Kart #1 in that vid. I was pushing the hell outta that cart and only got a 19.707. hahaha

Good time tho. My lil bro did very well for his first time ever behind the wheel of anything.

Blackbirdws6 04-15-2013 08:24 AM

I had a significant weight disadvantage so the only way to go quick was to be smooth and not upset the kart. The kart would skid hard if I made any big movements with the wheel. I would love to try the gas powered shift karts.

z28camaro94 04-15-2013 08:51 AM

Yea I upset the cart alot by going into the turns too fast. But it seemed like the best line for turn 1 was to stay wider then come in tight right before turn 2 and 3.

Shifter carts would be awesome. Im not sure if NJMP is clutch driven or shift. Still would be awesome to set up a club day out there.

You're looking at the mini grand prix or grand prix and a money commitment for the meet. Someone start making moves if you wanna do it.

I could look into this as one of the supplemental meets. I would want to do the 4 hour endurance racing

sweetbmxrider 04-15-2013 10:13 AM

Would be a good test for LeMons. I don't know what type of kart they are but I def want to securely mount my gopro to one!

PolarBear 04-15-2013 10:21 AM

Says they do 55 mph at NJMP!

sweetbmxrider 04-15-2013 10:49 AM

The ones we did were a supposed 45mph...

z28camaro94 04-15-2013 11:31 AM

I would def be in for a "sub" meet for this. The 4hr endurance would be nice, but a lil pricey. The reqular grand prix for $80 looks more reasonable

PolarBear 04-15-2013 11:37 AM

Would need a minimum of 10 people for something like this.
