Cool vid. My brakes were acting funny all day, pushing through ~3k rpm so I just left lol

Badass numbers guys!
Smash, 137 thru the traps is sick. Supra status.
Adam, where the hell did you find half a second and that mph? Your car must love that good air.
Kirk, nice to see some gain for the weight reduction
BLS, cool that Shamu still getting faster down the track. Time for some weight reduction ;)

Nah, I'm going to focus on the launch more next year and it should pay dividends down track. I was almost 5mph faster than last year so with a better launch and quicker shifting I think the car has a low 10 in it.

sweetbmxrider 11-12-2013 07:04 AM

I made a couple changes to help optimize the setup. The air definitely got it into the 10s but I think its an 11.0 car.

Lt1_8U 11-12-2013 12:37 PM

Awesome runs guys, glad to see the day went well

LTb1ow 11-12-2013 08:23 PM

No other multimedia from the day?

I met my goal of 10.6x but I was hoping for a little more with the amount of fab work I put in (though most work involved cutting stuff out). My 60' was consistently worse than last year...Between the brake issue and now seeing how hard it was pulling right in all the launches it needed some suspension adjustment. Sucking a half quart of oil into the intake didnt help either lol.

RW-2012 I averaged 10.79 on clean passes. This RW-2013 average was 10.69 on clean passes. So dropping 180lbs, opening up the intake, and some shift point tuning only cut a .1 off. Despite the crappy launches, that .1 was all in the 1/8 and the back half was almost identical to last year.

I think it has a 10.5x in it as-is once the few issues are worked out and I can get back to 1.3x 60' times. Maybe more if fixing said issues snow ball into a cam meant for racing

Maybe we should try some weight relocation? Move the battery to the trunk?

I'm not adverse to it but I want to avoid drilling and cutting things so I'm not sure if there is a reasonable compromise.

You drill like 2 holes to mount the battery box then route the battery cable through existing grommets. I think a battery kill stick is required, but I have never been tech'd for it. relocating the heavy optima is a double win for removing weight from the front and adding it where you need it. And you need it.

Blackbirdws6 11-12-2013 09:46 PM

I would be fine with the mount, just not the drilling for the kill switch.

Run it through an extra tail light for race days.

Hmm good thinking. I do have an extra passenger tail light.

sweetbmxrider 11-13-2013 07:14 AM

That's what I did but I never use it.

Blackbirdws6 11-13-2013 07:46 AM

I am also considering a bigger tire. I can go wider and would like to get a 28. I need to do some research on the potential mods that will be required to the fender well if I go that route.

WildBillyT 11-13-2013 08:15 AM

What's on there now?

sweetbmxrider 11-13-2013 08:16 AM

Center the tire in the well, cut off the bump stops (prob should relocate them), and hammer the inner fender areas. You should be able to sneak it inside the lip but might have to roll it.

QTP 27x10.5 and I have no issues with rubbing. The ebrake cable attachment needed some grinding on the one side but otherwise there were no fitment problems.

Wheel is centered and both sides are a hair off of the bump stops. Fenders are rolled already. From what I understand, the Birds have more room than Camaros in the rear fender area.

Can you fit tubs with the vert top folded?
