...and the march to post 1000 and BEYOND continues...

I finally bought a digital camera tonight. A Kodak Easyshare P850, 5.1 megapixel, 12x optical zoom. I was playing with all the cameras i looked at tonight, and it was one of a few that could actually focus as up-close as I needed in average lighting conditions. Now I can take much better pics of parts so I can list more on ebay. I like the camera too because i can power it straight off an a/c adapter and in the future I can buy wide a wide angle lens, a telephoto lens, and an additional external flash. Its a huge upgrade from my HP photosmart 120, 1.0MP and 2x digital zoom. lol.

sounds like a nice camera

turbo96z28 02-25-2006 11:52 AM

good choice Paul.

i have a Kodak Easyshare CX7525. 5.0 megs. had it for about 2 years now and love it. very easy to use.

you should look into getting the printer dock too. very nice to have.

I have a FUJIFILM "finepix" A345 its awsome! except it uses way to much battery!! thats my only complain, the videos you can take with it are pretty good as well...

Savage_Messiah 02-25-2006 12:47 PM

I'm getting ready to replace my digital camera soon too. I currently have an Olympus C-3040Z (3.3 MP), and I'm looking to the Olympus SP-500 UZ (6.0 MP, 10x zoom). Way better camera, and only half the price of my current one.

I liked some of the olympus cameras i saw too, i just happened to pick this one. Since 95% of my cameras use will be for ebay and online pictures, The 5.1 MP works out perfect and I can still use it to print out very good quality prints. I also like this camera because I can purchase a lens kit for up-close shots. I need up close clarity mainly when selling parts with minor wear or damage or to show actual part numbers. From the pics i just posted the difference is like night and day. Most of the cameras i looked at last night had only 4x optical zoom, and they would not clearly focus on objects like 6" in front of the lens, whereas this kodak is greta and has a manual focus option too along with image stability tons of optional mode selections.

WayFast84 02-25-2006 06:30 PM

Damn Paul that camera has an amazing picture quality compared to the old one!!!

turbo96z28 02-25-2006 10:50 PM

very nice pics...and definetly a huge difference.

does that model have video capabilities????

and did you pick up a memory card to go with it????

V 02-26-2006 12:14 AM

Yes it has video and sound capabilities.

I didnt buy a memory card yet because as of right now, the 32MB internal memory is enough for what i need. Im mainly using it to put pics of my parts on ebay so once i fill the internal memory, i just run upstairs to my comp, upload them, and then keep going. In the next week or two i will get a memory card though.

turbo96z28 02-26-2006 12:21 AM

go with the SanDisk 512.

i have one, and almost all my friends have them too. really good card for the price.
