lmao going from the 3:42's to the 4:10s really hurt the hting as far as gas milage but its still not that bad

WayFast84 08-20-2006 09:29 PM

dave: what does your car currently get for gasmilage, turbo included

ehh u must have a 5 speed. in my case 6spd ftw. 90ish mph at 2k rpm... gears wont hurt my in town gas milage by much.

project89 08-20-2006 09:33 PM

nope auto/with a 2,400 converter

Tsar 08-20-2006 09:36 PM

well um..4.10 in an auto trans, i found your gas mileage problem.

Savage_Messiah 08-21-2006 12:09 AM

4.10s auto here = 20 MPG with an engine thats blowing smoke

Seriously dude... the excuses are a little much... and this is what you get for thinkign 11.8s would be easy

I have the older, better version.
How to Big Block Damn Near Anything.

GP99GT 08-21-2006 10:08 AM

this thread needs more turbo 3.8

JL8Jeff 08-21-2006 10:33 AM

Hey, at least you made it home. Although I think you were heading the wrong way when I passed you! I guess most of the stuff you've done so far has been dirt cheap so you can't really complain too much yet. A V8 swap has been beaten to death and I can understand wanting to do something different.

BonzoHansen 08-21-2006 10:37 AM

Put a Grand National setup in it. Woot.

I already sugested that when he blew his forged motor

TURBO IRON DUKE!!!!!!!

JL8Jeff 08-21-2006 02:09 PM

Be original, go for the turbo'd Trailblazer straight six! Although, those engines are complete gas hogs for a 6 cyl. Maybe try a turbo'd Colorado 5 cyl!

BonzoHansen 08-21-2006 02:44 PM

VTEC!

project89 08-21-2006 05:56 PM

grand national swap is way to exspensive, and its been done more then a few times. jeff yeah when u passed us we had spun around to stop at that ****** lil gas station, was pretty much on fumes at that point.possibly why the car stalled on my final run lmfao.kasey i get about the same gas milage the rs only has a 12 gallon tank, thats why u guys are thinking the car gets ****** milage.

anyways i started to take everything apart today, didnt see anything obvoiusly wrong just yet,but was more concerned with just getting it apart then looking every thing over at this point.then again i didnt get into the motor yet, just took off all the turbo stuff,so in a day or so i should know exactly what happened

NJSPEEDER 08-21-2006 07:07 PM

do you have a fuel cell in your car or something? thirdgen tanks are 15.5 gallon, plus there is another gallon or so in the lines

project89 08-21-2006 07:11 PM

no it has the stock tank in it,everytime i fill it when its on e it only takes 12 gallons, maybe the gas gauge is just way off.

Mike 08-21-2006 08:02 PM

maybe its special.

Savage_Messiah 08-21-2006 08:56 PM

like driver, like car?

You sure about that? Ive been literally on fumes many times (ran out once) and it never took over 13.5 gallons no matter what.

WayFast84 08-21-2006 09:52 PM

I ran outa gas once In my yard I think we filled only added like 4 gallons to the tank while the other two watered the lawn.. but never ever does my car see a full tank It might explode or somethin
