GrandmasterCow 01-23-2008 10:28 PM

Intercooler piping is done. Only thing left is reworking the belt system and also working on the tune.

GrandmasterCow 01-25-2008 05:39 PM

UPDATES:
DROVE CAR TODAY. Just really around my driveway and down street. Didn't go WOT yet as I'm still working on the tune... but all I can say is GODDAMN! haha

I'm still making adjustments, I have an electric fan on it now incase but i haven't let temp get too high before i let it rest some.

i gotta hand it to you, man. you started this project, had a goal in mind and are well on your way to achieving that goal. kudos. what's the budget look like? i mean, bottom line so far, and any known future expenditures. it looks like you could easily be in the $6k range.

the first post in this thread i originally had some prices but i spent lots on custom fabbing stuff and also clamps, bolts, lots of belts, etc.. lol

i'd say between 3k and 4k if you don't include the 3500$ motor in there now, or the 1500 trans. lol

GrandmasterCow 02-27-2008 01:23 PM

Sigh car was fun to enjoy for a few days before the new trans crapped out on me. I might be redoing my fuel setup once I pickup a replacement trans to use while my stage5 gets rebuilt.

qwikz28 02-27-2008 02:49 PM

go t56 while you still can!

haha i'd love to but two things: 1, it's a hard conversion doing in your driveway/garage on your back, and 2, money. lol i'd love to have a beefed up t56 in there though.

SteveR 02-27-2008 05:23 PM

Whats the highest rating on a t56? I know the Viper one was like 550hp or something like that but the shifter on those was in the wrong place.

Stock or modified? Modified they can handle 1200 hp and 1000 lb-ft.

you could essentially modify a t56 with viper internals

and eric- if you want a t56, why not cut your losses and get one now. i'm sure you can get some of the guys to give you a hand once it gets warmer. you can't invest that much money in a car and then forget something important like that. put the money from the stage 5 rebuild and get yourself a nice rebuilt t56 and swap materials. especially since you said you haven't finished tuning. its the perfect time damnit!

jims69camaro 03-01-2008 07:04 AM

i'd say stay with the auto trans. you can get one beefed up for just a coupla bills and then never have to worry about a missed shift. where you are now, power-wise, you'll have to always worry about the clutch with a manual setup. with the auto, no clutch, now worries. stay auto.

GrandmasterCow 03-01-2008 10:06 AM

Yeah I think i'm staying with the, going to get the work done to it ASAP.

GrandmasterCow 03-26-2008 08:40 AM

Wah-BAM! Rebuilt my trans, and a few other goodies. car is running and drivable again!

12secondv6 03-26-2008 09:14 AM

Cool

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-26-2008 10:15 AM
