Yes, that was in the middle of my 12 pt romp.

i haven't had a radar detector in probably 4 years.. i get pulled over a lot less now than when i had it too. maybe my driving habits have just changed.

They decided you were much more interesting. :-)

I have a beltronics STI and it works unbelievably well. I don't believe they sell them at best buy though and would probably recommend a passport 8500/9500. I used to have the 8500 and thats what my dad has and it also works great. When it comes to laser, usually if ur radar is going off and its pointed on you its already too late. Come summer I'm going to be investing in a laser jammer.

And for everyone giving him endless amounts of **** for speeding should probably look at themselves and everybody elses driving habits on the road. Roads like the GSP/287 if your within 5 mph of the speed limit ur getting flown by on both sides and practically getting forced off the road. yeah he was going abit fast, oh well. 85 is not 125, he wasn't racing and wasn't driving aggressively. From reading the posts in this thread it seems that everyone here is some kind of self righteous prius driver that never speeds and is always below or at the speed limit. And before nebody says nething, I'm not endorsing speeding or driving fast, but to act like you never break the speed limit is pretty ignorant. Most of the time going with the flow is 5-15mph over the limit.

flame suit on.

Thanks for the input. I have to laugh that you brought up a Prius. On my way to Atco I got passed by one and I was doing 60 in a 50 behind an old lady. It doesn't matter what kind of car you drive,even tree huggers drive crazy! It's just that an F-body has the power to get you to that point that much faster. I bet the Prius was probably accelerating to pass me for a good 45 seconds because by the time he passed me he was doing 70+ mph in a 50.

xrelapse13 01-04-2009 07:52 PM

yeah no prob. Just 95% of the prius's i see are driving like 10 below lol

I've seen 95% of Prius drivers going well above the speed limit. :nod:

and they don't use turn signals...I assume that saves fuel.

Don't forget slamming on the brakes to help catch more energy

This just seems appropriate to this conversation for some reason: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1f139Q...eature=related

BigAls87Z28 01-04-2009 10:04 PM

Agreed that 80mph is the unofficial speed of the parkway.

sweetbmxrider 01-04-2009 11:21 PM

i agree with everyone saying the parkway is a quick crowd for the most part. 10 over is pretty acceptable.

lets look at it this way shall we.

85 in a 55 is 30 over.
lets compare that to a 25 zone.

55/85 = 25/X

cross multiply

85x25=2125

55xX=2125

divide to find X

2125/55=38.63

X=39 rounded

so 85 in a 55 is equivalent to almost 40 in a 25!!!!! that is quite fast. sure there are a bunch of other factors and all that jazz but i was bored and felt like some math.

i have ridden in vinnie's car and he is a good driver, car sounds awesome with a cut out, and i'm pretty crappy at directions :lol:

Mike 01-04-2009 11:44 PM

just when we thought the stupid was over for this thread.................:)

ar0ck 01-04-2009 11:48 PM

Been driving 7 years now, never owned a radar detector and I've only received one speeding ticket within the first year I had my license. Its real easy to watch your speed, you don't need any electronics to tell you when its to late.

Even professional race car drivers who are "good drivers" crash. Doesnt matter how good a driver you are, theres still a potential of crashing, weither its driver error or mechanical failure.

sweetbmxrider 01-05-2009 03:13 PM

edit: responsible

betttttta?

there is plenty more room for stupid in this thread. let me just get tired and bored :lol:

Knipps 01-09-2009 09:00 AM

I'd suggest Passport or Beltronics. I was looking into getting one myself a while ago

This thread has very little to do with radar detectors, I will rock my old one for a while. I don't do anything illegal enough to justify getting a new up to date one.

Adam- please take over the thread now and destroy it.

sweetbmxrider 01-09-2009 02:21 PM

hahahaha i think i'm going to buy a radar gun and effffffffff with everyone on teh parkway!!!

LTb1ow 01-09-2009 02:23 PM
