put some heat on it. that, and rest is about all you can do.

I lift every other day, no problems really till now, but I pushed myself to far today. Lifting pissed off is a bad idea.

to the Recovery topic: How long do you guys let a certain muscle group recover before you work out again. I usually do 4 or so days....

Depends. On the power routine, I take every other day off. The days I'm on it's the same big muscle groups. On the stamina routine, I take two days off in between groups.

Is may just be me, but when I am on an off day, I feel puny and then when I lift I feel much bigger. Mental?

Not all mental, but there is that factor in there.

How does one get bulky? I seem to be stuck at a certain weight, I can add on weight to my exercises but I don't seem to be getting bigger.

LTb1ow 02-23-2009 08:56 PM

Hm, should I be trying to do more of a pyramid styled workout?

Yes. But the pyramid should be going down. When I was lifting for size/weight, I would do 4-6 reps. But starting with a warm up weight, then going to the heaviest weight you could lift for 4-6. Then when you can't do 4, drop 5lbs and do it again. The problem is that this type of workout should be done with a spotter..

x2 I always thought it was 5-8 reps, or is that personal preference?

Everyone's body is different. So if 5-8 works for you, then go with it. I just saw more gains with 4-6 so I stuck with it.

im lik you weights go up alot but my weight doesnt. but i thought i ate alot before until now. i try and eat between 3500-4000 calories a day. of good food of course. but if you do that you should be eating something about every hour and you will not be hungry. after a week of eating lik this i noticed i got a little bigger. but eat lik that work your ass off and youll start gaining. i also take creatine and use the weight gainer called cytogainer

No chest soreness today, so I guess I may have cheated a little yesterday and bounced the bar off a rib. Oops.

Another question for the guys that lift. I just did my full workout with out a spotter for bench, and I feel pretty comfortable with the weight. How long should I wait before adding some more weight and what should I increase by?

If you are comfortable, do it now, and increase by 2.5% if you are under 250lbs.

DevilDougWS6 03-02-2009 06:59 PM

just benched for the first time in.....4 years. haha, i put up 140 lbs 10 times for 3 sets. i know it sucks but i want to get back up there. i was benching a little over 180 in highschool, but then i stopped lifting weights and do a lot more cardio now. i was also 140 lbs in highschool, now im 170, haha.

what are some good foods with high calories that i can eat everyday? the diet is the hardest part for me, because i eat anything and everything.
