Then if he's not looking for a sporty car, then drop the BMW's, the Starions ( I quite fancy one myself) old school celica  and the Z cars. Actually I second WBT's choice of the roadmaster, and station wagon version at that someone else posted. I'm sure you can junk a few pounds off of that to make it **** n git. |

Catera. Catera and the last gen GTO share a lot of chassis parts. Monaro is built on VY/VZ which is related to the Catera/Omega chassis.
You could have TWO LS powered Caddies. |
there was an ls1 catera on the caddy forums for sale, like 5500

Late 70's Malibu, find one with the landau roof, keep the stock steelie wheels... keep the thing as stock looking as possible.

damn someone beat me to it, but i think an older C10 stepside would be sick

I always wanted to put one in a 635csi or 450sl. A 560 sec is shape looking. Plently of room , rwd, comfy lux ride.

Thanks for all the great ideas....
Ok, I was surprised and impressed by all the great suggestions you guys came up with.
I took the ones i liked best and thought them over in regards to how feasible they were, both mechanically and financially. One BIG concern i had was the ability to legally register and drive the project vehicle in NJ once completed. Also the initial cost of purchasing the project car came into play. (ie. a Prius is dam expensive even wrecked, 7k+, lol) After sleeping on it to calm down my ADD, I have finally settled on a vehicle. Ironically, the car i chose was not even mentioned in this thread. It helps that its a classic already, and is a originally rwd v8 car. The goal of the project is to have a drivetrain that shocks and amazes for the car that it is in. The car will NOT be a show car in the sense of its outward appearance, cuz it will be downright ugly. However i will take it to shows regularly and with the hood popped, it'll get its fair share of attention. Also it may not be the fastest thing on the road, but it'll be cool. I got this car for my high school graduation, as a project then. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...teLT1shop2.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...Jan2008030.jpg |

2. will it maintain the crazy paint and fear this sticker? |
Just an FYI- you'll really have to work hard to shock and awe with a C3 Vette...
|

Should be a cool car when its together though. Always been a fan of the 78-82 body. Oh and if you are going hardline, I've got 10 feet of stainless 3/16" line and some fittings. Not enough for a full system though and all are blue. |
