your logic is slightly flawed, but that's ok it's easy enough to rectify. if the whole state is 185 +/-, then it's straightforward to divide the state in thirds, each third falling roughly 60 miles from the north border and south border, and each third occupying 60 +/- miles north to south. if you follow that, then route 72 and south is south jersey (drawing as straight a line as is possible, trying to follow a "natural" border). there is no "natural border" to define the north from central, but west to east the towns that are on the line are: Byram, Rosemont, Sergeantsville, Larison's Corner, Zion, Harlingen, Griggstown, North Brunswick, Sayreville, Laurence Harbor. now, everyone north of that line lives in north jersey. everyone south of that line, but north of route 72 lives in central jersey. and, finally, everyone south of 72 lives in south jersey.
see, it really wasn't that difficult, was it?
to settle the larger point that seems to occupy this argument, north brunswick is on the line, but east brunswick is central jersey. trenton, ewing, hamilton square are all central jersey. new brunswick is north jersey. i can't believe i used to drive to bridgewater everyday; what the hell was wrong with me? :D
