Yanks had a lot of bloop hits but they had them at the right time. I knew Hamels couldn't make it through 4 innings without giving up a homerun. I said they should have put him in the bullpen and starte Happ before the series started. I don't care who you are, the object is too win and he's not getting the job done. Phils lefties looked like minor leaguers swinging at all those curve balls out of the strike zone. I think I'll be at the game tonight if my dad can't go because of a cold.

NBC 10 news was talking about the World Series ...

and they showed a program salesman going "Get your office world series programs, filled with lots of pictures .. and no big words if your from New York!"

:)

I hate Philadelphia. all of my friends are Philly fans. I can't wait for them to lose so i can badger all of them. especially the ones that post facebook updates every ****ing inning and its just random letters with a "go Phillies" and refer to the team as "we". I just wanna slap the **** outta these people.

Frosty 11-01-2009 08:25 PM

Go back to drinking your Natty Light Bubba. :D

Frosty 11-01-2009 10:40 PM

****, that's probably it. Kudos to the Yankees. Here's hoping that I'm wrong. Just think, if Rollins and/or Victorino could get on base this game would've been over...these solo home runs are great you need men on base when your big bats come up.

Frosty 11-01-2009 10:41 PM

OK, now it's over....****.

I really hate when a closer is in for a non-save situation.

baddest434 11-01-2009 10:43 PM

ouch that hurts!

You don't even like sports Bubba...please leave the thread...go back to drinking your moonshine and ****ing your sister...kthnxbye(kidding)

Mike, no kidding. Madson should have stayed in, Manual does that a lot...putting a closer in during a non-save situation....f'in drives me nuts.

Mike 11-01-2009 10:52 PM

girardi does it too, they both need "how to handle a pitching staff for dummys"

bubba428 11-01-2009 10:54 PM

I will say this, being that I get to watch the Phillies all year(obviously) don't count them out...granted it's all but over...winning 3 straight, 2 up in NYC...highly unlikely but this team will NOT quit and they will NOT roll over.

i think philly will get tommorrows game too, although i hope i'm wrong. lee is 1 tough pitcher but he can be beat. and who knows what AJ will show up.

so philly splits w/NY today. i loved the eagles killing the giants:lol:

I like the Giants losing, puts Dallas and the Egirls tied for first in the NFC east, with the head to head match up this upcoming weekend.

The odds are not in AJ's favor. CC didnt look nearly as strong as he did in game one, but he did look very solid in game 1 sans those pitches...

The game will fall on the Yankees bats. If they can tear a hole into Lee early like they did tonight, and keep him on the mound, keep him on the mound for 25-30 pitches an inning, they will be able to get into the bullpen early.

I hope AJ pitches like he did in game 2.

I will say...something so awesome about Pettite vs Pedro in game 6, at Yankee Stadium...I almost want it to happen....but I will enjoy a win tomorrow night just as much.

Charlie blew it by putting in Lidge. He stuck with him all season and he obviously didn't learn anything. Lidge and Hamels were done months ago but he's too dumb to know how to manage it. Blanton was rattled after he had to bat with runners on 1st and 2nd but overall he pitched a decent game. Phils left runners on 2nd too many times again. It's extremely tough for a national league team to repeat as champs so I'm not really surprised at this point.

BigAls87Z28 11-02-2009 12:00 AM

You know, I was thinking that the Nat league has the batting advantage in the WS.

When they are at the AL stadium, they can throw in another hitter to fortify the line up.
But when its at the NL stadium, the pitcher who has hit all season has the advantage over the AL pitcher.

sweetbmxrider 11-02-2009 07:30 AM

man these games have been good!

The advantage goes to the AL team because they have a player who only exists to bat and produce runs. Most NL pitchers can't bat well at all so that doesn't give them much of an advantage of AL pitchers anyway. Look at the Phils, they don't have a spare player that bats .300+ and has 250+ at bats to be DH. The advantage definitely goes to the AL.
