Frosty 10-23-2010 10:54 PM

A rematch of last year would've been nice.

Rangers/Giants  Thank God for hockey and football(and basketball still isn't a sport lol)

Yup, just got back from the game and what a pathetic effort by the Phils once again. How can you jump on a team 2-0 in the first inning and do nothing after chasing how many pitchers! To lose 3 games by 1 run shows how poorly managed this team is. Ruiz bunting was the only attempt at playing smallball so they definitely don't deserve to go any farther than this. I still can't believe they ended up with the best record in baseball and have the worst slumping offense in baseball at the same time!

I know its not saying much but its only 10.00 a ticket to go see a sixers vrs Boston, LA, or anyone else they play game at home and they will be more competitive then last year..

baddest434 10-24-2010 04:06 PM

whoa only 10 bucks for a ticket? even against boston, LA, miami? thats a great deal. and i wouldn't care how bad the home team is either.

Frosty 10-24-2010 05:18 PM

The Sixers could win 3 straight titles and my care level wouldn't change.

Thats what I am saying. I got a 10 game package this year for me and my daughter and it cost 200.00 for the both of us to see 10 games.

So you mean to tell me that if the Sixers beat the lakers in the NBA finals ( no chance of that happening) that you would not go to the parade?

BigAls87Z28 10-24-2010 11:21 PM

Basketball and Hockey are filler sports. No one puts on big parades or events for them unless you live in a city where that's all you got.

IDK. I think if the Flyers won last year there would have been over 1 million people at the parade.

Savage_Messiah 10-26-2010 03:38 AM

at least one new york-area team had success vs texas...

No...I wouldn't. The NBA does nothing for me. I'm not a fan of the sport, I don't care about what team does what, I don't care how the Sixers do. Well wait, check that, I hope they do well since they're here in Philly that's about the extent of my caring.

No it doesn't. Are you saying Philly doesn't have baseball or football?

Al's just mad cause the Rump Rangers hasent seen the finals since they won the cup in 94, and keep getting knocked out when they play the Flyers in the playoffs.

As for the Islanders....... nuff said

Baseball JUST started becoming a sport in Philly. How long have the Phillies been there? And how many years were they good enough to have parades? In 3 years, they won 1, lost 1, and just missed one, losing to a "lesser team"
Football is the same story. Few good seasons, but over the stretch, overall middle of the road team.

Not a Hockey fan, not by a million miles. Hockey is a sport full of ex-figure skaters with poor attitudes.
Only Rangers I hate right now come from Texas.

I root for the local teams in other sports I dont care much about. Nets and Devils. I also root for other local teams in the NY area and like to see local teams win.

Al, you're dead wrong about Philly. This has been a football town for the better part of 2 decades and beyond. Just because they haven't brought home a super bowl doesn't mean anything.

...and LOL@your comment about hockey players. They're probably the nicest athletes you'll ever meet when it comes to fans and taking the time for charity work, signing autographs etc. They're 5x's the athletes and 10x's the professionals football and baseball players could ever be. No steroid controversies, a very rare legal issue here and there...but then you dislike the sport so you're biased. I'd love to see you on skates though, it'd be funny :D;):D

How are the Eagles over the past 10 yrs a middle of the road team? They made it to 5 NFC championship games and 1 Super bowl.. They made it to the playoffs 2 or 3 other times and got knocked out before the NFC championship game. So for 5 of the last 10 years they were a Top 4 team or better.. That doesnt sound like a middle of the road type of team to me..

As far as the Phillies go. I am 29 yrs old and went to about 20-25 games a year at the Vet for the Phillies in the 90's! I have stood by the Phillies for all those years. To me the biggest sports team in the area is and has always been the Phillies.

As far as hockey goes. I would love to see you say that to a NHL player.
