Nope but when someone is looking for a daily driver it is! I aint having a argument either. There are many reasons not to get a G8..

They get crappy gas miles around town.. Usually 20mpg city driving 25-28 highway, they are big and sometimes tuff to park, There are many blind spots, Hard to find parts for since they dont make them anymore.

Built by morons or not a early integra with which I assume is a fully built b18 and a type r head running mid 14's to me is not so good. A fully built B16 Hatch with June stage 2 cams ( think he said which means nothing to me) running high 13's while fully stripped to me is not to good.

When I hear built bottom end with ported heads and cams to me means fully built motor!! I dont know how it is defined in the Honda world so if I pissed you off or offended you I apologize..

Biggest reason IMO is that not too many were made and Pontiac is a ghost. So finding replacement parts might be a bitch. Yes, GM is supporting it for a little bit but that doesn't mean parts are always in stock, etc.

Not pissed off or offended. I just know quite a few people with very fast Hondas both na and boosted. There are many with simple bolt ins that are faster than the cars you mentioned

I would be afraid of that too, but there is a little more hope since they made the PPV. You can actually buy one here:

I don't see that as a problem since Holden is still a huge part of GM and that Holden even used the Pontiac face as part of a special appearance package to sell through some of the left over production parts.
Getting the parts might be a problem, but they should still be available.

We are going through that right now. We have had a bad exhaust muffler since we bought it back in March and the dealer just got the exhaust system in. Cool thing is they are gonna replace the whole exhaust system from the Manifolds back.

I hear you. Just wanted to make sure. I know some fast hondas as well and there were a handfull at the track running 12 seconds or faster but there was also a stock Automatic C6 vette running 11.7@118mph there and everyone one in the stands couldnt believe it was stock!! I know I am comparing apples to oranges but even for me with dumping 6 grand in my t/a to run the same mph as a stock vette I feel a little pissed.

lol wow. Funny what simple advise turns into. I agree with the g8 comments, but also something to look at would be the bmw 335i or xi..twin turbo/6 speed with a few mods can really move out. All while being comfortable and luxurious. although they are a little hard to find in your price range theyre not impossible to find.

Maintenance on an out of warranty high mileage (to get into her price range) turbo BMW could be crippling

A year after I bought my Turbo Legacy GT (just a comfy WRX but a little more power lol) my ideals have changed a little and to be honest I wish I would have bought with noting but fuel economy in mind. It's a DD...in essence it's a beater. It's too nice to be a beater but it is. the mileage is racking on and theres really nothing I can do about it. and because that it's not worth as much. which means I am stuck with it. In retrospect I would of bought something that got more than 30 MPG and can run on 87 or diesel and not 92 which has been 4.00/gallon.

But this is a performance website so why would you want to run on anything but 93?? j/k.

Anyone can get 13k posts. Its those who can do it in 4 years that truly shine.

Dodge Neon

Better rally car than an STI, WRX and EVO

Better weight distribution than the BRZ

More torque than the cummins diesel

Runs on regular

Doesn't need a B16, 2JZ or R134 A to go fast.

I crack myself up

1. just found out I'll be getting a job offer so a new car is definitely in my future
2. slowly falling in love with the brz/frs
although I'm sure my mind will change 100 times

k_garretson23 09-12-2012 08:15 PM

One oiling issue has been addressed. There's a Prescreen inline with one of the banjo bolts for the turbo. Easy to fix by pulling it out, but can easily kill a turbo.

Thats for the LGT, WRX, and STI....BRZ is non-turbo...and rear wheel drive...therefore not a subaru

Just a heads up. Scion has a college grad program which will knock off $1000 on the spot, Subaru is less. $500-300 is what I heard.

greenformula92 09-14-2012 08:06 AM

Just keep in mind that Subarus are a little high maintinance so if your not a maintinance stickler you may want to look elsewhere. If you want I can give you a run down of the maint schedule of mine to get an idea what your in for
