GP99GT 03-21-2011 03:13 PM

we're gettin there

Frosty 03-21-2011 03:34 PM

"We"? You play on the team? Noice! :D

88WS-6 03-22-2011 11:18 AM

We only need to win out for the season. I believe it could be done.

Unless we have to play Ottawa or the caps. The rangers are red hot right now

Untamed 03-23-2011 01:37 PM

I believe...

88WS-6 03-23-2011 02:32 PM

Big setback last night. Not to mention the leafs, canes, rangers and sabres all won. I almost can't bear to watch...

Ouch

GP99GT 03-24-2011 05:42 PM

haha yeah that last loss was the nail in the coffin i think. on a brighter note, parise is practicing with the team and will be back for a few games this season

WayFast84 03-25-2011 09:44 AM

My boy zachy p is gonna do damage! I heard he had 2 goals in a short game during practice.

88WS-6 03-25-2011 10:32 AM

If they win out they have a chance with 90 points...

JL8Jeff 03-26-2011 09:52 AM

I have to say that I absolutely hate the shootout BS giving one team the extra point. A shootout has nothing to do with one team being better than and beating another team. If neither team can win outright in regulation or overtime, then each should get 1 point, that's it. There is no shootout in the playoffs so I don't understand why it's used in the regular season. I bet if they extended overtime to 10 minutes, 75% of the ties would find a true winner. I don't recall seeing so many overtime ties and shootouts, especially at the end of the season like this. It's not even fun to watch these games all played to a tie anymore.

Knipps 03-26-2011 10:10 AM

It was developed to decide a winner. Someone wins, someone loses. There's no shootout in the playoffs because it's ok for those games to go until 1am. It's a special occasion. If it was 10/80 games (per team) in the regular season it would be a little ridiculous.

Frosty 03-26-2011 11:11 AM

I've hated the shootout since Day 1 regardless of how badthe Flyers are in it, lol. It's exciting but the impact on the standings sucks. Your team can blow but hang on past OT and have an advantage in an INDIVIDUAL scenario.

For instance, the Red Wings came back from 4-0 against the Pens the other night, fought back as a team, tied the game as a team and lost in the shootout as an individual....I hate it.

Nobody deserves the win if you can't score in OT. Obviously they can't keep playing 20 minute OT periods until someone scores either. This year seems loaded with shootouts, it's like teams are playing differently. I think the last 4 Flyers games have gone to shootout and the last 3 Penguins games as well. If you really think one team should deserve the extra point for a win, make them score to prove they deserve it. Ties were always a normal part of hockey and if one team scored in OT they got the extra point. I think the 4 on 4 in OT was a great change, but the shootout is worthless.

Fixed again for you.

Sadly belief was not enough.

I will continue to enjoy the rest of the season, and look forward to next year.

Through the post season I hope one of the "local" teams can keep the Cup and keep the fans in the game regardless of who they supported during the regular season.

Frosty 04-04-2011 05:33 AM

That's OK, it's going to be a quick 1st round exit for the Flyers if they don't get their **** together.

88WS-6 04-04-2011 07:16 AM

1st time since 96 that they are playing golf in April. If they can play like they have since Jan to start next year we should be pretty good. Hat-trick Elias wasn't enough...

Yeah, it's amazing how bad they look for a first place team. I'm preparing for a first round exit.

If the Devils are smart, they won't bring Parise back for any of the remaining games, he'll just get hurt again for no reason.

Frosty 04-04-2011 07:36 AM

Jeff, the optimistic side of me is hoping they're just coasting to the playoffs. Remember last March? They had a terrible month. I would hope that they have that extra gear for the playoffs...but on the flip side of that I would hope an NHL team wouldn't just coast through games. Time will tell but I don't have a good feeling. Richards is my boy but he's just been awful the last 2 months. Hartnell is worthless. It's REALLY pathetic when Zherdev is hustling the most out there.

Frosty 04-04-2011 08:58 PM

Wow, sick comeback by the Rangers tonight.

No kidding! Boston was in control and suddenly they couldn't do anything. Playoffs should be interesting.

alamantia 04-05-2011 07:44 AM

Devils still suck.

WayFast84 04-05-2011 11:33 AM

Time to route for Washington and Vancouver!
