I couldn't make it due to car issues that popped up a day or two prior. I would have loved to go, but running the car when I have odd things going on with a vibration is a good way to break things.

Best way to break it in. Run it like you stole it.

Nothing wrong with breaking in a new motor at the track. There is, however, everything wrong with running a car that was previously vibration free, and suddenly developed a driveline vibration.
I'm going to swap in my spare LT1 steel driveshaft, see if the vibration goes away. Next up would be swapping on my stock wheels (stock size tire/drag radial out back) to see if that does it. If both of those fail, I guess I'm opening my diff up to see what may have happened there. |

As for breaking in the motor....I left the place (leaving island road turning onto 46) in a screaming from dead stop powerslide. So yes I run it easy, and I run it hard. I do know I left some on the table, with the launches and the fact that I didn't manually shift the car going down the track. (If I had I probably would have locked up the brakes and spun because the left foot would have went for a clutch) I've been trying to figure out the RPMs that won't overwhelm the tires on loading up the converter while using the foot brake. I know its quicker. I've got an LT1 driveshaft laying around as well if you want to try another one providing your spare still vibrates and nothing else is wrong. I could bring it down for ya. |
I felt bad missing this, but I felt like crap all day. I was looking forward to running 17s too...

L695speed - Thanks for the offer. Once I swap out the one in the car and test it, if the vibration is still present, then I'm on to the wheels. If I swap the wheels and tires out and it still does it, then it *has* to be the Moser axles I installed recently... Although I'd *swear* I took the car on the highway after I installed them and it was fine. Guess I'm going to find out.
