I'm not grouping, I just never used anything while lifting. I was wondering if everyone that lifts on here used something to help them thats all.

The super pump doesn't "help" me as much as the xplod stuff did, but I can sleep the night after I lift, so thats a plus.

Never go back to that stuff. Superpump is way better and doesn't make me want to kill something if I take more than 2 scoops.

Funny it has no effect on me, besides not being tired after I lift my usual load and then some more. But I experienced what they advertised only once, the very first time I tried it

ya i know wat u mean i honestly dont like any NO supplements if ill try somthing else for preworkout it will just be some kinda anabolic activator

I guess, I am kinda sensitive to caffeine, so when I would try to get more out of it, I would just get really hyper and not able to focus on anything.

Recovery is a big thing for me. I lift hard 3 days a week and without proper rest/diet/supps I'd be stuck at a plateau all the time with damaged shoulder tendons and muscle strains.

If you want to stay w/o supps or use a few supps to their max advantage take a look at using nutrient timing principles. It requires you to be kind of religous and careful with what you eat when but you can get the most out of everything.

While lifting for football all through high school and the end of my eighth grade, i was able to get my squat up to 300lbs w/o supplements

Just goes to show hard work pays off regardless (and going through puberty )

At 130lbs I was at a 300 lb squat....went for 315 and I think that's when I messed my pass side knee up. Couldn't get it up from 'parallel'......but its been jacked worse since 90.....so I don't do squats (free weight or smith machine), but plenty of any other leg work :)

I'm not big on all the supplements out there, but the super pump deal and creatine was all I took.....I'd prolly try more if I knew it was going to help me any. I'll has to take Big Billy's word on this....he knows how 'swolt' I am....

hahah i like how you said pass side knee cap, but yea my back got to me after 300lbs and limited me there for a while

But i would recommend any supplements like creatine or xplod or any of that stuff, go with straight up whey protein, its the best kind for you and of course take your vitamins!

Yeah, from what I remember most "serious" sports nutrition people say don't bother with other supps if you aren't doing at least a vitamin and whey already.

sorry i meant i wouldnt*** suggest any supplements other than whey protein and vitamins, im just not a personal fan of things like xplod and what not and dont think they do enough good to be justified

For the guys that do take superpump, do you eat right before taking it?

I never did. I'd go to the gym by 11am, and then either do a big shake afterwards or grab a bite to eat - usualy chicken breast, sometimes some sketti's.....usually it was a clean meal.....sometimes even a salad with a big shake.

I really ought to get on the ball and get a schedule together....and stick to it....

LTb1ow 12-03-2008 04:36 PM

I had a chix sandwich at 12, lifted at 3 ish, went well. And grape super pump looks horrible but tastes delicious.

BigRocsFirebird 12-03-2008 07:35 PM

i eat protien for mass but not shakes and all. i just think all those supplements are a mind thing like my friends sware the mixes and all help out but idk.

Hows whey protein a "mind thing"?

LTb1ow 12-03-2008 07:51 PM

I think he is referring to stuff like superpump, xplod etc...
I find that they work, but I also lift without them on days so I don't develop a addiction to lifting with em, if that makes sense.

never tried superpump, and generally not a big fan of xplod - because I do not think it warrants its cost. Although I would definitely say that it works. Although it doesn't deliver its promised "wired" effect for me (only happened once), that's because my body doesn't care for caffeine much, i can definitively see where it had improved my strength. at least while I'm on it

Superpump does contain creatine, right? I know Xplod does, so wouldn't saying it that it doesn't work be in the same ballpark as saying that creatine doesn't work? Just thinking out loud here.

LTb1ow 12-03-2008 08:50 PM

I think they both contain small amounts of creatine. Noxplod has more water rentention for bigger mass, I think.

blasphemy!

sounds like youre just too narrow minded and ignorant to the supplement world

its simple science- your body uses up vitamins, amino acids and other things that simply cannot be replaced fast enough. what happens? you wear out and cant complete sets. then your sore as hell the next day. supplements help you get a better workout and recover faster.

LTb1ow 12-03-2008 09:09 PM

What are some good ones to take?
