You could say that. Or you could also say that a lot of air is forced into that engine.

While you don't fit into any crowd... go do donuts in your pickup! :moon:

LSX boyz.

i have worked on both and yes the ls motors or really nice piece of work and well layed out but both types f motors have their pros and cons ..... i have run with many ls with my LT1 so yes maybe they do make more power from the factory but good cam and heads make the lt1's fly just like any other small block chevy..... the ls one don't require as much work to push the 400 hp mark usually cam and long tubes.... but the lt1 can run with the best of them ...

Dodge Neon FTW - epicness!

My experience between the LS1, LT1, and 3.8L V6.... I found my v6 quite easy. LS1 was pretty easy. LT1 was more challengin than the LS1 and V6... but not too bad.

Granted, I haven't done extensive mods - just your average things.

I have worked on both for many years.

When you first pop open the hood of the 4gen it looks kinda intimating but is just like any other sbc with a few changes.... (i am talking about a LT1)

For example: The biggest complaint I get is changing spark plugs on the lt1 .... well with the right tools and know how its pretty easy and not that bad (i am not saying is a piece of cake) but, with a shorty ratchet and and few tricks it can be done in about an 1 hour....

As far as the LS1 yes there are many things that are great about it number one in my book is the head design (a nice piece of work)

and there are many things about this motor that makes it nice (one thing that comes to mind is the gasket seal and this design solves allot of the oil seepage and leaking problems are a thing of the past.... but there some special tools required to assemble these motors .... for example aliment tool for the timing chain cover (yes you can assemble this with it but to do it right and not to have problems down the line it a must)
also the price to build which is usually about 15%-20% more then a typical LT1)
