Yeah 357 is a good choice and we also have this in our nightstand also. For the top barrel they say you should use the 410 shotgun shell with birdshot. that was you can't miss and you stun them. Then you shoot again but you have the 45 longcolt in the bottom barrel to finish. The gun is pretty nasty we have one and its pretty small.

Birdshot is for little birds, not bad guys. Birdshot won't do **** to a bad guy. A Derringer like that is also a terrible home-defense gun. Two inaccurate rounds against a determined adversary = bad news.

you're not getting the point. birdshot to the face you can't miss them. if your shot in the face with that your gonna be stunned then you take them out with the 45 long colt. we also have buck shot for it. but we have shotguns and all kinds of guns.

Please for the love of God take a self-defense in the home class, or something similar. You're thought process on this topic is way off track, and could get you killed.

I prefer a full stock on my shotties... gives you WAY more control over the gun. Good looking rig!
