You're forgetting the incredible power and the extremely high rev-ing capabilities.(Up to 4.5k, not enough a honda can top that)

Oh! A rotary with open dumps sounds worse than an LS1.

NJSPEEDER 11-06-2008 07:23 PM

Oh God, rotaries are the worst ever. Hearing the new RX8's at Daytona and Sebring winging away at 10.5k rpm was the most awful sound ever.

I don't hear rotaries as much at Atco like there used to be. Did they all break from their 11k rpm clutch dumps?

No, the INS came through and took out all of their pit crews.

Yes, that was my racially insensitive comment for tonight. :D

The best sounding engine is a Hemi screamin at 7k.. No sweeter sound than that.

I loved my '86 but in no way would I drive it without a full exhaust. I can't stand the guys at track revving them off the limiter with no exhaust.

NastyEllEssWon 11-07-2008 02:49 PM

yeah theyre a tad obnoxious open 'head'ered. i like the sound of mine with no cats and the apexi n1 duals with a racing beat headered. damn minivan took the car out going down whitehorse hamilton square road.

Sorry, but having heard both in person, Indy/CART cars have absolutely nothing on an F1 car. I got to see them at Indy before the rev restriction, shifting at 19k and the Jag/Ford trying to push 21. It was amazing. I never would have guessed an engine coudl spin like that and not just sound like a big obnoxious scream.

Ferrari 52 degree V10 at 18k = Ask Justin, I called him mid race and just held the phone out so he could hear.

iirc your ls1 also has headers ls6 intake and a stall convertor. its a 10 year old car, stock except for the exhaust and it run 13.5's with a 2.2 60 ft and a 105 trap speed. if i wanted to i can shock the rpms against the convertor at launch and bang out a lower time.....3 tenths just arent that important to me with a stock car. i still have all my egr/air/ac/toolbox and my jack and spare when i ran it. :moon:

GP99GT 11-08-2008 08:23 AM

whats a stall converter?

sweetbmxrider 11-08-2008 08:50 AM

you should get a stall

NJ Torque 11-08-2008 09:34 AM

I have a whatever stock converter that came with the car. I have my AC and air system too.

And you have a lid and exhuast. Whatever. Car won't be nasty... with your "low milage" car and all.
