yeah i just got it around 2 when i turned my phone on. ill look what i have tomorrow.

Ive decided tomorrow i'll finally unbolt and remove my drivers side header completely and then just unbolt all but the last bolt on the passenger side. Then on monday ill crawl under and remove the passenger header and put the stock manifolds and cats back on.

V 03-19-2006 06:06 PM

ok, well both headers are unbolted, and the drivers side header and cat are removed. I just gotta drop the pass. header and cat tomorrow and then reinstall the stock manifolds and cats. I also took the MSD wires off and oem wires are going back on. Heres some more engine carnage.. my poor LS1...:missu:

when are you getting a new engine? dont you have a waranty? or was that on the denali?

V 03-19-2006 06:14 PM

the SS has a warranty until August 2006. its going to my old shop and my old boss is gonna take care of everything for me. The Denali has a warranty as well. They do come in handy...lol. Except when i blew the rear in the SS twice and that was a whole mess.

WayFast84 03-19-2006 07:43 PM

If I had a waranty that thing wouldve been in the shop within hours

oh one ls1 SS 03-19-2006 11:27 PM

his car was "modified" thats why its been sitting..as far as i no
i actaully had my LT's on when i blew up my trans and messed up my rear and they covered everything under the warranty so u might be doing all this work for nothing

I was so paranoid that the 350 i completely rebuilt for my monte would be bad, that i bought a spare motor to start rebuilding to replace it. Well, the 1st 350 runs great, no smoke noises, or leaks. Even with the 383 i half built and swapped in, no mechanical problems, im just still hesitant to work on other peoples cars. If its something simple or a bolt-on part sure, but getting into engine/trans/rear internals... only on my personal cars.

understandable..i dont wanna go into the motor untill after its out of warranty anyway because i no im going to blow something up before 11-2007 :)

when i blew my rear, the extended warranty company came and checked it out. i had lowering springs and a catback exhaust. The approved the new rear right away and noted down the mods in my history. When the rear went the second time 2 months later. The warranty company would not cover it due to their policy that the dealer who fixed it was responsible under their parts/labor warranty for like up to 6 months. So it got towed back to the first dealer. They looked at it and said it blew the 2nd time due to the car being "modified" and they voided their warranty. I was helpless, AND another dealer had it before and they said it blew the 2nd time due to poor workmanship and not be installed correctly. I ended up towign the car home, it sat 4 months and i bought a rear off ebay and instaleld it myself, no issues since. but anyways, my warranty comapny said in no way could my mods cause that damage(i put a piece of the carrier out through the rear cover) and they said the dealer was being retarted for voiding their warranty but they couldnt make them fix the car. I could have probably gotten away with getting the motor fixed with the shorty headers, but i wasn goign to risk it, especially since im so close to the end on my warranty, i had 5 year 50k miles, i'm at 5 years in august and 48k miles now. better safe than sorry.

theres a recent law saying that unless the dealer has proof that the mods caused the damage that they cannot deny you... definately look into that

The Moss-Magnuson Act: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/...s/warranty.htm

yeah, the moss-magnuson act came up while dealing with my denali. Ive read up on quite a bit of legal crap about warranties. The whole deallwith the rearend in my SS could have been solved, but to be honest i didnt trust that dealer with my car, even while we we talking to see what was gonna happen with my car, they parked it out in the front right by a main street(like 2 feet from the curb and it was forcasted to snow like 6+ inches that night, and they wouldnt move it.(plows, salt, etc) Thats why i towed it home. but anyways, i pad 300 shipped for a rear from ebay, it had 6k miles only and i sold off all the extra parts that came with it (calipers, rotors, springs, lcas, panhard, shocks, tq arm, e-brake cables, brake line) and made my $300 back.
With my SS now, i just want NO issues, i want the adjuster to come look at the car, approve the repair and write out a check to the shop for labor and a new GM crate engine.

i'm baaaacccckkkkkk........

my girl's b-day was Saturday.

Friday night she wanted to see V for Vendetta because i kept saying how good it was. then Saturday we went out to dinner with her parents and her best friend and her boyfriend then went to see The Hills Have Eyes. it was meh, i liked it, but thought it could have been better. there wasn't enough gore

that and work has been busy as hell. we just built our own sandblaster :w00t: . add to that i've been fighting a nasty little cold and coming home means a little TV and sleep.

but now i'm feelin better......and i plan on retaking my post lead biotches!!!!!!!!
