kasey, why cant you install your own rear? lol ive done like 4 rear end swaps on my back. oh wait, youd probably have to borrow my tools, lol.

billy, i saw the hills have eyes last night.. it was ok i thought, but me, my girlfriend and our frined were debating it on the way home... like how was the gas station attendent really involved, who were actuall miners and who were offspring after the testin, how could mutations be present in the older guys if radiation exposure kills and just mutates following generations, why did dave drop the shotgun when he got his baby back? and many more, lol.

melissa you got the lead when you were postwhoring :-D like kasey and brandon, hehe

kasey just call them...Justim or timtin...they youll never be wrong.. :bunny:

Yea, I'm guessing that tools would be the main concern. I managed to swap my rear in by myself, and it wasn't fun, but I managed...

Kasey, heard back from Tim yet?

- Justin

Savage_Messiah 03-20-2006 03:34 PM

No and I just tryed calling him again...

Paul the reasons are: manpower, lack of tools, and that the new rear has no brakes so they all have to get swapped over. Now that I think about it, should I pick up some brake fluid??

Savage_Messiah 03-20-2006 03:35 PM

And I know your names, but does Ms. Most-posts-in-this-thread????

Tru2Chevy 03-20-2006 03:35 PM

No, we shouldn't have to disassemble the brakes. Just unbolt them intact from the old rear and drop them onto the new one.

Heh - She has a nasty habit of forgetting....

- Justin

Savage_Messiah 03-20-2006 03:36 PM

ok. Something (that is my eyes looking at the rear, and theyre in agreement from when Paul looked at it and what he said) tells me we may have to slide out the axles though... that shouldnt be anything crazy though right?

Tru2Chevy 03-20-2006 03:40 PM

If the axles have to be removed, then you will need diff fluid and gasket maker (Right Stuff).

- Justin

Savage_Messiah 03-20-2006 03:41 PM

I have the fluid ready to go already... (will 1 quart suffice? I can never rmember if it's 1 qt or 1 1/2 qts) and I was just gonna pick up a standard gasket, is that gasket making gel type stuff better?

Tru2Chevy 03-20-2006 03:43 PM

I always use Right Stuff to make those gaskets, haven't had one leak yet. You'll need approx 1.5 quarts of fluid + the limited slip additive.

Try PMing the old man - he doesn't read this thread.

- Justin

Savage_Messiah 03-20-2006 03:44 PM

gotcha gotcha... will they have right stuff at autozone?

Oh well. At least you'll have the stuff you need when we have time to do it.

I would say just bring it to my house, but if I put another Camaro on jackstands in my driveway my mother might just kill me.

WayFast84 03-20-2006 03:57 PM

Brando56894 03-20-2006 05:10 PM

yea paul me and my friend kept on calllin the youngest boy/guy in the movie a fricken idiot cuz he would do retarded stuff in the movie, and when that dude dave got his daughter back and dropped the shotty i said to my friend nick "whatch hes gonna come back to life or some stupid ****" and surely enough he does.... as for the gas station guy he was definately involved in all of it, if he hadn't told the family to go through the dirt road there wouldnt be a movie!

I don't think i have the most posts in the thread anymore because of class... damn time spent away from the computer.

And I know their names. I keep saying, Tim's tim, its just that Justin is Tim sometimes too ;)

actually, i know their names now, i just like to piss the mod (if thats what he's calling himself these days) off.

V 03-20-2006 06:29 PM

Kasey. If you want, you can do the rear swap at my house, but its be in my driveway and i wouldnt really be able to help(ill be working on my SS) so have people come to help, lol, but i got all the tools. And yes you will have to pull the axles out since the new rear has no brake backing plates which will need to be swapped over from your current rear. You will need the diff fluid like justin said and any auto parts store will have a rear cover gasket for a 10 bolt, ive always had greta luck with standard gaskets, never tried the gasket maker stuff personally. You will not need brake fluid as long as you are careful and un-clip the hard metal lines from the rear before you drop it. that way the calipers will stay attached.

i still wanna see V for vandetta, but i dunno when ill get around to it.
And i still need to finish my header swap, today was wasted away which i wasnt too happy about.

BigAls87Z28 03-20-2006 06:39 PM
