I have to say, I have the Continental ExtremeContacts and they are great in the rain and handle very very well on dry pavement.
|
i drove the eagle f1s before and they are spectacular. expensive though so i'm going for the kdw2s next.
btw- hankook blows |
The article (I can't find the issue now) said the numbers were on the website so you could make your own determination, but I can't find them. I wanted to look at the scores w/o the treadwear (which is a useless number), and without price.
|
I have NO idea why the KD was used. The D clearly stansd for Dry weather, and Dry weather only. When they put it in rain, it supun out...NO ****!?!?!?!
Try on the KDW and you might have gotten different results. F!'s are much expensive, but one of Goodyears better tires. Mich PS2's are another "dry" weather tire. if they wanted an all season performance tire, they should have put in the Pilot Sport A/S. |
i have bfg gforce. They are great tires
|
my tires arent even on that list wooohoooo for firestone firehawks
|
Hmmm, I'll have to check out some of those tires.
When I got my new rims I snagged a set of OEM Goodyear GS's...now I see why people ditched them back in 98-99 or whenever they were came on our cars. God they suck lol |
IDK i got those goodyear tires on the back of the T/A now n i think they suck. Burnouts in em suck they dont leave any type of marks n idk they make the car just feel lik itrs floating on they highway.

i really think the Contis are a bit over-rated. i'm not saying they are bad, but on some applications they feel somewhat soft.
Hankooks are a good tire at they're price point. the Dunlops are a good tire for most applications, but tend to wear quicker than they should IMO. Pirellis are great tires, but age prematurely. they develop dry rot and cracking far sooner than they should due to the way they heat cycle. me personally......can't beat BFGs. although i love the Z-rated Police spec RS-As i have on my 96 now, wet weather traction feels great on the highway, but pulling away from a light when the road is slippery usually nets me a low traction light. when i go up to the 17s, KDWs or Comp T/As are in my future, but i'll be hanging on to my Goodyears. |
I liked my RSA's. They don't come in 17'' size do they?

not in any size that an F-body owner would be interested in  |
:(
I had them on the stock rims on the Z 245/50/16 I didn't like them at first but now having those ****box OEM Goodyear GS's I want my RSA's back lol |
RSA= JUNK!! While a great design...10 years ago...they are a waste. There are plenty of tires out there that can do the job better then the RSA. Kumo ASX or a BFG Gforce KDWS are better non-semetrical tires.

Eh, I was able to cut a sub 2.0 60' time on them..that was good enough for me. Are there better tires out there? Of course but any tire can get me a 2.0 and hold up on the 1-2 shift(my trans shifts hard 1-2) is decent in my book. |
Im talking about the handling and driving of the tires. I have had several customers hate the tire, on top of a lot of premature wear. My boss had them on his GTP, and he couldnt stand it.
All tires act differently with different sizes. If you look at reviews of the BFG KDW on a smaller width tire, they are poor, but when you get up to the big 255 and 275, they reviews are gleeming. |

I never really pushed them cornering wise but I can tell you the wear wasn't the best. |

i do agree there are better tires out there, which is why i'm going with BFGs for my 17s. but the RS-As aren't bad in my experience for normal driving. only problem is, some districts still use them for patrol cars. you don't even want to know how many cracked-up cop cars we get after some rain or some over-zealous driving. |
I have KDWS 17's on mine, and they're great....much better than the GS-C's that were on there. They're great in the rain, and last winter I actually had to back 1/2 way up an entrance ramp to Rt 18 on an inch of solid ice because of a 15 car pile-up at the bottom....I had my doubts at first, but it went pretty easily which was impressive.
