Progress pictures w/ new goodies

Started as me going to reseal the notorious LT1 intake manifold leak, and decided since im going to have the intake off, might as well go a little further.

so, besides being lazy and it getting cold I didnt get to far:

Maybe if it didnt get dark JUST as i get home from work, I wouldn't be so reluctant to work on it. I did come home work and these were sitting on my steps:

Yup I ordered the lt4 hot cam kit that also came with springs, locks, and retainers ....

Woo this is gonna be fun. Guess its time to get acustomed to working in the bitter cold dark again eh? Why do we always decide to do this **** NOT in the nice weather?

j0n 11-03-2006 11:05 PM

may want to upgrade the springs with that cam...

ok, heres a progress update:

the cam is in, rob got 12 outta 16 valve springs done. I need to get plugs, timing chain, and a AFPR. Would have gotten further, but the damn temperature drop got us along with .... yeup .. you guessed it ... getting dark early. Plus, I put a nice gash on my face with a head-but to the exhaust braket .....

Im still shivering (its 36* now)... but we got a good amount of **** done so thats what counts. Not bad for 4 hrs of work and two trips to my house and ShlepBoys! (lost my damn valve holder air fitting so had to go get a new one) :D

yea, everything went well. Minor speedbumps were 1) trying to pull the crank hub, not realizing we had to use a skinny bolt in the crank first 2) trying to fish the spark plug air fitting in eash cylinder 3) when i smacked my face under the car giving me a nice gash

I just woked a little bit each night when I got home from work. But since its not my daily driver, nor do i drive it realyl at all, i wasnt in a rush so if I would have gotten in a bind that costed me a lot of time it wasn't a big deal...

ar0ck 11-14-2006 11:00 PM

btw, that little pcv tube that has that round blue fitting that hangs on the drivers side, what is that?

V 11-15-2006 05:07 PM

its actually a vacuum line, and the blue fitting is a check valve i believe
