RANT---NJ Transit Police

Tonight started out as a very nice night, I got concert tickets for my family, and a buddy of mine down at the Tweeter Center, so we all pile in a few vehicles and get to the River Line, and head on down on the train. The concert was great, we all had a good time...but when we got back to the parking lot I noticed something was wrong. Out of courtesy of other drivers, I parked out of my way a little bit because the truck is big, and didnt want to tie up spots upfront that are closer to the train station. My mom parked next to me in her Chrysler Pacifica, and when we got off the train I noticed something was wrong. My truck towers over her Pacifica, and I didnt see the truck at all. First thing was first, I called the police, because I figured it got stolen...so I went through the wide array of emotions from entirely upset, to pissed off and damn near about to kill the next living being that walked past me. After about 35 mins on the phone with the Bordentown City police I find out the truck was impounded by the Transit police! Turns out that when I sent my registration in, it must of not gotten there, or they have not processed it yet, so they towed it and impounded it! So, now exactly one week from leaving for my vacation to the Outer Banks, I get to spend all the money I saved up for that on the tow, to get it out of the impound, and who knows what other damages the truck has since those drivers dont give a **** and probably destroyed my suspension, and my BRAND NEW TIRES...

/Rant...hopefully I can get the truck back Monday or Tuesday, but im working doubles both days...

Knipps 08-05-2007 01:53 AM

that sucks dude... hope for the best when it comes to your susp./tires

Rich189 08-05-2007 04:13 AM

bad64chevelle 08-05-2007 04:17 PM

thanks everyone, all I know as of now is that I have to go to Newark to get the truck back. Hopefully calling early tomorrow will yield some good results.

baddest434 08-05-2007 04:55 PM

 NEWARK  i hope you still have tires and rims on that thing. not trying to jinx you or anything!

trashman01 08-05-2007 06:29 PM

if anything is damage and since it was towed WRONGLY u can recoup u money back plus the damages. my buddy had that happen to his car, the cops towed it thinking it was stolen and they destroyed his front bumper(the cable wore a hole into it somehow?) and the 12 bolt. he sued the stuff outta the state. all cuz the cop was too lazy to double check the tag number(it was 1 number and 1 letter off) just make sure u bring proof that u sent ur registration in be4 the due date.

next time u see one of their cars, u should tow it lol

unstable bob gable 08-05-2007 07:41 PM

DAYUM, that sux! I didn't know Transit cops had that kinda power. Plus they hauled it all the way to ******** Newark? Man, again, THAT SUX!!!

bad64chevelle 08-05-2007 09:48 PM

If there are damages, they will be sure fixing them! Im leaving for Outer Banks in a week, and I really hope there is nothing wrong. Bob, I really didnt know they did either, but supposedly they do this all the time from this place. I guess these rent a cop pieces of **** have nothing better to do...Oh well, I guess someone has to be the ******* who harasses a taxpaying citizen...

Yeah, the NJT cops are "real" police, but it is SO much random BS to be running plates at a parking place on a Sunday. :-x

Yeah, the worst part about it is that my moms car has NO inspection sticker on it, and she got nothing. Like my buddy said, it was the biggest vehicle in the parking lot so I stood out like a sore thumb.

jimmyboy8301 08-06-2007 09:46 AM

i was at the concert too, that sucks to hear tho

bad64chevelle 08-06-2007 09:54 AM

Yeah, it was a good concert. I get to go to Newark now to pay all the charges to get the truck back, and I still dont know where the thing is. This bull sh** never ends...

bad64chevelle 08-06-2007 04:22 PM

Well, just got back, and it kinda went easy. Went to the Transit Police headquarters, showed them all my info, they stamped me as clear to get it back. Turned out Charlie Allens in Hamilton had it. A few bucks later I was on my way home with what seems to be an undamaged vehicle. So with any luck this will all be fine and this is the end of this ****** up situation.

baddest434 08-06-2007 05:17 PM

glad you got your truck back! w/out damages too. have fun on your vacation

bad64chevelle 08-06-2007 05:31 PM

Thanks!

BTK79 08-06-2007 10:15 PM

Good to hear it all worked out for you.

BonzoHansen 08-06-2007 10:17 PM

I chalk all this up to bad karma for missing the Nats....

Ok, fess up. You were taking up 2 parking spaces so nobody would park too close and scratch your truck. Come on, you can admit it now.
