what's your favorite racing game?

ok, fess up. i know a lot of us dig racing games, no matter which console (or PC) you own. which is your fave?

since i own an archaic, ancient console (gamecube) not a whole lot of choices. i do have need for speed: most wanted and nfs: carbon. nfs: mw, pretty good game, set up the story for carbon. carbon i like because they included some old school muscle, including a '69 camaro, which i naturally painted Hugger Orange. modifications are strict, not too many of them, but are intuitive. cars that you would assume have a turbocharger get them, others get the supercharger (most old school muscle has SCs). i've beaten carbon 5 times over and i'm still playing it.

Nascar season 2003. awesome game

edpontiac91 09-15-2007 02:08 PM

Toca 2 for the XBox. Had the NASCAR Texas Speedway track down to a pat, with the NASCAR style cars. Also the F150 Lightning trucks were my meat on that track. I was in the top 1% rating for the best times overall in that series. No medal, no money, no glory, but it was fun. Nobody could figure out that you needed 0% downforce on the front and rear spoilers to increase speed. With the right gearing, I could get up to 235 mph in the draft.

Brando56894 09-15-2007 04:45 PM

i just bought a used copy of GT4 last weekend, i havent played it that much though.

trashman01 09-15-2007 04:59 PM

Driver is pretty good, so is toca. i also have GT4 but havent played that in over a year or any video games for that matter. wish some1 would build a off-road game where u could do pretty much anything to ur truck(not just a 14" lift, 38" tires)

jims69camaro 09-15-2007 06:10 PM

BlackBADaSS02 09-15-2007 06:15 PM

I downloaded the Demo for Dirt. Its pretty cool.

Tru2Chevy 09-15-2007 06:47 PM

I have also played the Demo for Dirt, and I'm watching Amazon and Ebay for cheap used copies (I can't justify spending $60 for a video game). It seems like a great game.

I love Forza 2 - It's the best racing game I've played on 360 so far. I never really got into PGR 3 - I don't think it's as good as the first two (even though the graphics are really good). Hopefully PGR 4 (coming this fall, I believe) will be better.

I'm still big into Grand Turismo 4. After owning the game for almost 2 years I finally have 60% of the game finished.

DaSkinnyGuy 09-15-2007 08:31 PM

I love Forza 2 currently I am #362 overall for time trials and top 20 for the new york city time trail. Use to play Need for speed underground and underground 2 online on PS2. Was one of the few to break 1 million drift points on the Lighthouse map.

foff667 09-15-2007 08:55 PM

GT series for me...hate the n4s series, Can't say I've realy played anything else other than the occasional nascar/F1 games so Forza might be just as good or better

Blacdout96 09-15-2007 10:01 PM

Gran Turismo 4 life!! I will say Ive played Forza and they got a nice selection of cars where GT4 should of picked up, like they have the Cadillac LMP car and all GT4 has is their concept car... they also have the Panoz LMP car, and the graphics arent bad, butI grew up on GT and im gonna stick wiht GT.

bubba428 09-16-2007 04:29 AM

What about the Top gear and Top gear 3000??? they were the originals man. You could even mod your car.

Blacdout96 09-16-2007 10:05 AM

Nah, Pole Position was the original. those famous words, Prepare to Qualify. I remember going to the roller rinks when I was a kid and those machines were always there.

GP99GT 09-16-2007 10:55 AM

misterjuice 09-16-2007 07:04 PM

WildBillyT 09-16-2007 07:53 PM

Old School- Test Drive 4 in 3dfx.

Blacdout96 09-16-2007 08:25 PM

Test drive!!, I like Test Drive Le Mans, and Test Drive unlimited, although unlimited takes a alittle long, but its pretty cool to drive around an entire Hawaii island, and its internet capable, but it sux for the PS2 version, XBOX version is where its at.
