what to do

Its your senior year. You played a sport for 2 years and want to play it again, You work the hours that practice will be and you cant really stand your teammates. Last years season Blew but you have 2 great players coming in and 1 coming back from last years injury..

Knipps 10-26-2008 08:34 PM

**** the sports. the drama worth the adrenaline?

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 08:34 PM

Watch from the sidelines?

Anti_Rice_Guy 10-26-2008 08:35 PM

Shouldn't 2 and 3 be merged? More or less the same idea. No hockey, just work.

madness410 10-26-2008 08:36 PM

listen man, this happened to me too my senior year, i played soccer for 3 years and quit my senior year because i wanted to put money into my car...

DONT DO THAT.

i regret that i did that, every time i think of it i feel like im a quitter and i never do quit. listen, money comes and goes, and your car will always be there for you when you do have money down the road. if you have empty pockets i think its a lot better than feeling like you are a quitter...just my .02, but the best advice i can tell you is to do what makes you happy

Fast92RS 10-26-2008 08:37 PM

Well whats more important to you or which one do you enjoy more? The Car or Hockey?

mc73nova 10-26-2008 08:47 PM

Can you make a career out of it? Are you that good? If so keep playing.

If you are playing for fun, concentrate on your future, save some cash. You can always play next year, there are plenty of adult leagues you can enter.

It's hard for me to tell you not to put every penny into your car but I'm gonna say it. By all means spend money to work on your car if it is something you love doing, but make sure you have money in the bank for the important things in life. I could have a house with all the money I have spent on previous vehicles (that is in no way an exaggeration)

One thing I have noticed from being around car shows and races is that there are much more older people than young people. They have put in there time worked hard and are rewarding themselves. As long as you stick to one car and make a goal for your project, you will be able to do it more comfortably.

My $.02

After school you WILL BE WORKING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! Enjoy your youth and have fun NOW. You will always look back later on, as this WAS the BEST time of your life! :orlyflag:

I dont understand the problem
I played football for 4 years. Letterd 3 of the 4 years. You dont play 24/7/365, you play one season. The rest of the time you work. Whats so hard?
Why cant you just do both? Stop worrying about cars, you obvious cannot do that right now. Just get your car running to where you can be happy and stop. You dont need to be king **** in the high school parking lot. You arent gunna get laid becaues of it, and you sure as hell aint gunna get anything out of it right now.

Play the damn sport, have fun, work in the off season, make moeny, save up, then get something later on downt he road. Stop having ADD when it comes to trivial bs "life problems."

I played 2 years, Lettered both.. Its more of How hard it is to get hired now a days. It took me 8 months to get a ****in job...

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 09:23 PM

But your in high school, why do you need a job so badly?

sweetbmxrider 10-26-2008 09:26 PM

you could always part out your car for cash

LTb1ow 10-26-2008 09:27 PM

But he needs to cash to pay for his car..... hmmm

WildBillyT 10-26-2008 09:27 PM

I voted for hockey. If I remember correctly, you are trying to "change your body composition" and that is certainly worth something.

"You won't need as much money for the car if you don't mess with that which is not broke."

Frosty 10-26-2008 10:04 PM

You bitch about $$ and not having the funds to fix your car...unless that was last week's drama filled dilemma...

I regret not finishing my sports, I was too busy working...I got my first job at 15. Now that I'm 28 and my muscular dystrophy has progressed I'll never play a sport again and it sucks....I'm definitely filled with regret.

Part of me recommends you have your fun, play hockey(my favorite sport too). However when you have bills to pay and you're complaining about it taking 8 months for you to get a job is not having $$ worth playing hockey? That's the question only YOU can answer. All of us can tell you what to do(not like you've ever listened in the past lol) but ultimately it's your decision and only you know what sacrifice is right for you.

qwikz28 10-26-2008 10:12 PM

i would never, ever, let other people stop me from doing something i enjoy. i don't care if they annoy me or anything, i do what i want.

Frosty 10-26-2008 10:16 PM

Go Jake, you rebel! :D

JL8Jeff 10-26-2008 10:37 PM

Play hockey! Don't worry about the money or job yet, you're still in high school. You will regret not playing. I changed sports my junior year because the coach didn't like me even though I was a top performer. I loved every minute of the sport I changed to so I have no regrets. But don't bail out on sports for $$ and work unless your family is in a tough spot. You can probably find another job but you should make sure you concentrate on school first.
