2009 Finalest Calendar Members?
Has anyone heard who is going to be in the 2009 issue as of yet. It was supposed to be emailed to the people who made it about two weeks ago!
|

Pretty full of yourself aren't you?

I'm not gonna lie but unless the pics themselves weren't good Ed's car is pretty damn ridiculous. When I saw it in person I was highly impressed. It's probably safe to say it's even nicer than mine.

and ed, your car isnt even on the list of submitted pic's, so if you didnt submit a picture how the hell can you be mad |
I know last year the pics he sent were not usable (size, etc) maybe that happened again.
|
Yes, as much as I love Ed's car, the submitted pics were no where near large enough to use in the calendar (IIRC, they were the same pics as submitted previously). We state the requirements very clearly, and we can't help it if pictures are submitted that don't meet the requirements.

Pictures not picked as features do not get "trash canned". The pictures submitted, along with pictures collected from club meets and the Nats, get used for the inset spaces where the extra days slots are each month.
Going forward, we will make an effort to let members know right away if the pictures submitted do not meet the criteria for one reason or another. -Tim |

no, all i said is buying a photo shoot, or having him shoot the car at the nats, would ensure proper sized pictures for the calender you seem to care so much about
and i dont really "always look on the negative side of your threads", i think this is the first of your threads i have posted in |
pretty much you need a better camera or a friend with a nice camera. enlarging your current photos would ruin the quality. i understand where you are coming from though.
|
As stated before, we dropped the ball when collecting the pics on this I think. Going forward, if pics do not meet the requirements when submitted, we will be sure to contact the member with the specifics of what prevents the pictures from working for our needs.
I am not a photography expert by any means, the best understanding I have is that the calendars are printed at such a high quality that the pictures submitted must meet a rather high standard. The camera used doesn't have to be the latest or most expensive, but my Kodak Easy Share certainly won't make the grade either. I know that is a rather broad explanation, but that is my understanding. -Tim |
I know that not everyone is a computer or digital photography expert, and that is why we included the part about the megapixel requirements of the camera you use to take the pics. The vast majority (if not all) digital cameras have their megapixel ratings printed right on the body of the camera. I also described in the thread how to check your pictures to see if they were large enough.
I also answered every person who asked whether or not their pictures were large enough, and worked with them to get the best pictures as possible. I did not "chase after" people who submitted pictures that were not up to the size requirements because many people submit pictures only to be used as filler. - Justin |
