Lady was driving an Escalade, her truck had little to no damage, but my whole clip has to be replaced. She was cool about it, just wish i didn't ASSume she was going to go right away. Guess you live and learn eh?

miketa95 02-09-2009 04:33 PM

That sucks. At least it's fixable.

chrisfrom nj 02-09-2009 04:34 PM

the damage doesnt look that bad at least it can be fixed

chemicalstylez 02-09-2009 04:37 PM

yea its def fixable. I need a new front piece, a reinforcement bracket, and a new front plate cover since the 2 clips broke off of it. Gonna run me about $1300 after its done. Ordered everything an hour after it happend, I wanna try and get it fixed by the end of the week.

What surprises me is that the airbag didn't deploy. The impact put my head into the sunvisor and top of the roof... so it was pretty hard lol.

If you did this from a dead stop you need to lay off the metal foot dude lol

yeah, especially w/o looking in front first

glad you're ok, and thats nice she was cool about it. I did that once in my jeep at a stop sign in new brunswick where all the construction is. They had a stop sign and a 5 foot "merge" onto Rt 18. The mustang in front of me stopped, I stopped, I saw her starting to go, so I went. Right into the back of her. She was cool, thankfully. The back end of the mustang was already dinged up, so we went on our merry way.

chemicalstylez 02-09-2009 05:17 PM

No seatbelt so the impact of it just tossed my skinny ass lol. Just never thought it would happen to me blah.

Mike 02-09-2009 05:47 PM

um think i could have the garbage bumper and plate cover before you let the body shop throw them away?

sweetbmxrider 02-09-2009 06:13 PM

dang dude at least it wasn't too serious. was she on her cell? my dad did it once before with the whole fam in the car. the guy got the hint and went

i would recommend wearing a seatbelt, it is the LAW! no excuses!

Frosty 02-09-2009 06:27 PM

That impact wasn't nearly hard enough to pop the air bags.

It's not that bad, glad you're ok and that the damage isn't that bad.

Jensend 02-09-2009 06:44 PM

You were very lucky on three counts: understanding driver of the other car, minimal and fixable damage, and most importantly- you were unhurt despite not having your belts on!

I am particularly sensitive to the last item today as my son is currently visiting a hospitalized close friend who was: ejected in a crash this weekend, required an air lift to a trauma center, and has serious injuries. The accident happened at very moderate speed. The impact however, was enough to destroy two cars.

As a parent and a someone sharing the road with you, please do us both a favor and wear the belts- always.

Fixed that for ya at no charge.

Could have been a lot worse but does suck that it happened in general. It's an excuse to get rid of some rock chips.

Anti_Rice_Guy 02-10-2009 11:28 AM

That sucks man. And Brain, I think Bubba might've actually put it that way on purpose.

CivicEaterLT1 02-12-2009 09:14 AM

damn that sucks. good luck with it

i remember someone ran a red light and we both kept sliding in. he had a 07 accord and my 95. my car stopped his from moving. lmao my nose just got pushed in. his whole bumper cracked down the middle. and for the funny part. after the cop got there he asked us to move our car and the guy left his car in drive so while impulling away his car is driving away lol

chemicalstylez 02-13-2009 08:49 AM

Thanks for the replies guys. Well my insurance company has decided to give it to me dry.......

I got 2 different estimates. One was for $2800 and the other was for $2300. I have full coverage on my car and they cut me a check for $700. Said that was plenty of money to fix my car being that its "10 years old". Now yea, I'm getting the work done by a really good body-man at a super cheap price $1281. But like seriously..... $700? (after my 500 deduct). The front fascia alone from GM brand new is $641. I been paying full coverage since i was 17 and this is a total slap in the face. They said they had a good body shop for my car; so I did some research on it and from what I uncovered they do some really ****** work. Hence the lowball price on damage. Just sucks, i pay full coverage, pay my deduct, and still have to pay for the work. WTF, there's no point for insurance if your still paying.

Between I use High Point and I won't be using them again. Anyone know of a F-body friendly insurance company?
